New BMW Owner

Hi all,

Tomorrow morning I am putting a deposit on and doing paperwork on a new BMW G20 330i M Sport with the below.

- Portimao Blue
- M Sport Package
- Visibility Package
- Comfort Package
- Remote Start
- 19" Black Double Spoke Mags
- Sensatec Panel
- Mesheffect trim
- M Sport Seats
- M Rear Spoiler
- Shadow line highlights

This is a car the local dealer already had on order and honestly I would swap out the Sensatec panels for the H&K sound system but hey the car docked in country today from what they were saying.

My question to you all is what should I do to prepare for it's arrival?

I have already ordered an ODB module and Bimmercode to get rid of some annoying crap like warnings and stop start.

Is there anything else you guys think I should look at?

Thanks!

Congrats bro. A bmw is nice just the way it comes... but if you made it to these forums that means you're itching for a few mods ... my 330i is fully loaded... the only thing I'm missing is a diffuser and spacers. Check out my topic for my list of mods + prices. Pick and choose what you want, to keep it the way you want it .

Cool that they are getting the shadowline headlines out to quickly, show pictures!

As for the Stop/start, that won't be an issue on the 330i, we still have the button to turn it off unlike the M340i. Still, I'm sure you'll find plenty to do with Bimmercode like allowing your car to start in sport mode or changing ambient lighting colors.

HK is pretty poor and you're much better off upgrading the standard HiFi with the money. You probably dodged a bullet because there are more aftermarket options with HiFi than HK.

Thanks for the replies guys!! Will settle into the new car and go from there if there is nothing on day one.

The Bavsound upgrade does look interesting also!

Congrats mate! I'm also waiting on a 330i M Sport. In my case, I added the HK system and acoustic glazing options even though the dealer suggested the standard HiFi that comes with the 330i M Sport is good enough.

This isn't a like-for-like comparison, however based on my everyday experience with my current VW Golf trendline 7.5, the Golf's standard audio is ok for use in the city but on road trips, at high speeds, the audio experience can be shitty especially on rough roads. To be fair, most of the utilization of my Golf is in the city so this doesn't really bother me a lot. Also, I expect the 3 series to have better cabin noise-insulation than the Golf by default.

One option I'd have loved to have on mine is the rear spoiler, but I had to draw a line somewhere budget-wise. As nice as some of these BMW options are, they can be pricey especially without discounts.

If you do decide to fit a rear spoiler in the future, make sure the fitting is performed properly. I had my CF rear spoiler fitted three times before I was happy with it.
When I picked up the car the spoiler had been fitted with 3M tape only and the two outside edges began to lift.
This was re-fitted (again with tape only) and the edges stayed in place, but the bottom edge started to lift (and let in water).
Understandably, I was pissed off and insisted the dealer re-fit the spoiler again. This time they used an epoxy and the spoiler has not moved.
Incidentally, the BMW method should be full strength 3M tape with BetaLink K2 (black glue) around the outside edges of the spoiler. This is a product made by DuPont. It’s messy to use, but gives good results.

If you do go for aftermarket audio let me know. I've replaced nearly everything, all speakers with 2 amps and sub. Learnt a lot.

Thanks Steve, I'll bear that in mind. Cheers mate!

Honestly they are probably the only thing I am not 100% sold on.

It may be me coming from cushy Lexus seats from the old car, but they seam pretty hard and solid so far.

Love how they hug you in, but still getting used to them and finding the right seat position.

Work is killing me this week with 12+ hour days so haven't had time to really drive besides school pick up and drop off. Only just hit the 100km mark today

Updates to come

Same issue with the OEM seats. Not very comfortable so far...

Lovely looking 330i!
