I'm toying with the idea of getting one. I'm aware that the 2021, late 2020 model has a small electric motor (mhev) in it now. I've seen a few recent YouTube videos of EU models exhaust and they sound less exciting. Has anyone got any videos of the exhaust sound with this addition on their own car?

I have 21'. Exhaust is completely toned down. I was extremely upset about this. I just bought the AWE touring exhaust because I can't take it. Look it up on YouTube. 2020 exhaust compared to 2021. They have perfect video showing you the difference

Mine is a 2020 G21 and the exhaust is toned down to what I see on some YouTube videos. I believe this was more to do with a software update than the mild-hybrid change.

Still decent sounding in Sport / Sport+ though.

G20 late 2020 model, had it a week or so. Only 1400miles on the clock, sounds good in sport mode etc. Very pleased overall.

Then don't look at the AC Snitzer list of extras!! Mines done about 1800 miles love it.

Yes I'm new.. had the car for 2 weeks, its back with the dealer and has been for 1 week. so 50% of my ownership its been in with the dealer !!!

Ordered last month, just eagerly awaiting delivery. Got the good news this morning that it has been brought forward from end May to mid/late April!

G21 M340xi, Dravit Grey, Shadowline, pano roof, HK, and a few other specific options.

I sold my beloved E91 335i Touring last month after 10 years at 158,000 miles. After looking around there was nothing better than it's grandchild to replace it!

How does the exhaust sound in comfort /sport mode? My understanding is the car now comes with a mhev (spelling) electric motor.

It sounds a bit muted compared to the pre 21 model I test drove. It could also be due to it still having under 200 miles on it... Autostart/stop on MHEV is annoying as it can't be turned off!

I’m just about to finish comparing the MPG on a full tank using Sport mode vs Comfort. It’s looking like there’s not a great deal in it with mainly short round town journeys.

Stick it in sport and then it’s off by default

Sound on my 2021 is virtually identical to my F31 340. I wouldn’t call it rorty but mellifluous and smooth.
