Reversing Assist
I think it was on here where somebody posted a slight scrape with Reversing Assistant and I have to agree - clever though it is - it isn't terrifically accurate. I manually reversed down the drive, alongside the house, to my usual parking place. I then drove forward and up into the cul-de-sac to test the reversing assistant. It took me back down the drive again but when I'd finished it had put two wheels on the grass, perhaps about 6 inches to the right of where it should have been...

I used it the first day I got the car back in June which was the same day we got keys to a new house. I pulled onto the drive and we when we left, I said watch this. It shot out onto the road and there was a car parked that wasn't there when we arrived. I'm still not how we stopped but it was mm's from a massive side-impact! Only ever used it once again which was just the other day but had my foot on the brake!

No, it wouldn't have been and I think it certainly wasn't the best place to try something like that either but it was a lesson learnt!

I used it once yesterday and it did an ok job. Pretty simple reverse out of the in-laws driveway. Was pretty pedestrian though and considered a couple of times to give up and take over.

I find it works generally well but it only remembers the last 50 metres.
The other day I had to go to the end of a narrow winding street with parked cars on both sides. No room to turn round so I let it do its work but it stopped control at what must of been about 50m. As Jim said keep brake covered... |

Yes only 50m and the countdown on the dash shows you how much it still “knows”. I covered the brake too and from a usability perspective it was great - just 6 inches out.

Ah didn't know there was info on the dash - to busy checking the mirrors.

I tested it for the first time this afternoon. Crazy, out of control and definitely needs some time in a massive supermarket car park to get the feel of being pretty much autonomous in my own car

I don't have an issue with controlling the accelerator and brake using this or the parking assist (I'd fully expect and want to do that) but it's a shame that the steering input is nearly - but not quite - accurate all the time.

I dont like the noises the car makes when using parking assist and the steering goes from lock to lock whilst stationary. The car groans and lurches.
Not sure why it can't do large steering adjustments whilst still moving slightly.

I like the parking & reversing assistants. I don’t use them all the time, but in certain situations they are useful e.g. reversing at night in the rain. I never fully rely on it.
