The front grille of the 4 series has become a grotesque caricature of itself.
For the 7 series (and X7)- we had an oversize grill- people joked that the front would eventually be all grille.
On the 4 series- BMW says- YUP. Almost there. I'm sure the next 3 series will have the headlights within an even larger grille.

I'm disappointed, not much else to say really. Do I buy out my M2 at the end of the lease or leave the brand entirely.

Not at start at least.

However, I just realized while reading through the german price list again that ventilated seats are an option, which is not the case for the G20.

Was actually in a similar predicament. Wife had been using our M2 as a daily and putting on a lot of highway miles (commute to DC), we actually just purchased a GLC for her to drive daily so we can use the M2 more as a weekend and track vehicle and limit the miles since it will likely be our last BMW for a while since we aren't a fan of the new direction but still love the vehicle. In the end it worked out well since we needed a SUV to replace our son's old X3 which will be going to college with him.

I advise you keep the M2, unless stepping into a Porsche or possibly even the upcoming CT4/5-Blackwing which should be pretty interesting competition for the M3/4.

Thanks it's interesting you say that as I've been looking at the Cayman GTS 4.0 or a Carrera as next cars. I used to own a CTS V Wagon (Manual) that I sold sadly. I wish I kept that car! I have some time before the lease is up so can wait to make a decision.

This is the base gauge setup on the G20, and its arguably the best setup. It has a smaller display at the bottom and LED backlit analogue gauges. Sadly if you want any safety tech, it isn't compatible and you are forced to upgrade to the inferior all digital gauges. As of now, BMW despite claiming to be one of the most tech forward automotive brands, has yet to give us any useful customization of the digital gauges.
Thanks for posting. Are you saying that any safety packages such as lane departure and collision avoidance are not available on the standard LCD display versions?

I'm not sure, have to check out the G20 configuratior, I think only the Driver's Professional Package (Which is the one with the eye tracker) gets rid of it, as well as the basic Premium Package, as well as any stand-alone options that require the Premium Package, such as HK Stereo, etc. I imagine the 4er is likely packaged the same way as the G20 is.

Not going to sugarcoat this...that Launch Ad made me lose my appetite.
The variant of the ad shown on their social media feed is even more atrocious.

They are sexualizing the car and eroticizing the design.

In an interview not long ago, Van Hooydonk even used the word "sexy" to describe the design language of the i4 (which has the shared language).
Yes it's just a word but one gets the feeling that he meant "sexy" in an eroticized fashion, not "sexy" as in attractive...as evidenced in their marketing.
I mean, you have BMW a brand with a sporting reputation, using suggestive language, kissing, and licking, to market a vehicle.
Take away the BMW and this can easily be an advert for a condom or viag...nevermind...

I understand progress and the need to be bold but I'm also quite disappointed in the branding and direction that is shifting from a dynamic & athletic/sporting image and design, to a "sexy" and edgy design.

This is embarrassing. And to answer the ad's question, yes indeed they are a turn off in this case
