I've gotten two tickets already in NY.

I didn't like the looks of the Rho Plate mounted in the tow hook so removed it and got hit with tickets instantly

I just ordered the StoNSho which will be perfect for when it's parked

I saw one guy recently in a Subaru who had his plate mounted on his sun visor and he just flipped it down when parked. Not sure if this is 'legal' and would avoid a ticket? Doubt it

I don't know anyone that mounts a front plate on their sports cars; when attending cars and coffee events you would be hard pressed to see front license plates. I'm willing to take the risk with the law because the plates are not attractive on an otherwise nice car.

I live in California and I commute to college, I had a tow hook mount on my g20 but my g80 will never see a front plate. I'd rather pay the ticket tbh.

Just bought the Sto N Sho mount and they tell me my friends can get a 10% discount with code 2020FRIEND. If anybody is thinking about it, that's ten bucks off...

Cars here now and I need to figure out a solution that is quick on and quick off to put on when street parking only. Otherwise not gonna use front plate.

With the above info which is the easiest on and off
I can't find a video of Carbonio for g80, videos for the m2 version make it look clunky and requiring Allen keys and more than a few minutes for installation and removal. So how are they advertising seconds for the g80? Is it a different mechanism

Sto and sho seems like the best option but I purchased a unit17 front lip and multiple people telling me it won't work or I'd have to drill through the lip. If both lips use stock mounting points I would think it might still work?

Last option, never used tow hook before but for the slap it on while parked option doesn't seem like it would be the quickest. Can someone correct me if it's a stupid quick exchange and I should consider this?

Thanks in advance

The thing with the sto and sho is that your front lip will most definitely be lower than the front bumper, which means that the rods securing the plate to the car would likely have to be bent to clear the lower hanging lip.

For the tow hook, see the image to get an idea of what you'd have to remove. 4 plate bolts, 1 bolt from bracket to extension, the extension itself. Probably 2 min job once you've done it a couple times.

Tow hook may not be the way to go in that case! See how the lip changes the clearance up front and maybe you can get the sto and sho to work out if it's long enough.

I will say that if someone was to have a front plate on the car full time, then the tow hook location looks best IMO.

Agreed if I have to switch to 24/7 front plate I'm going tow hook!

I asked local city police, and was told city cops won't ticket. But state police will on the interstate. I never run front plate, and in my opinion, the new grill looks horrific in every color with our state plate. It's like a piece of food stuck in a muskrat's chompers. If city cops told me they'd ticket for no plate I'd buy another car.
sidenote: seeing nice sports cars with our plate on the dash is laughable, and it pains me to see a nice car with the plate drilled into the fascia.

Has anyone used the dealer installed "OEM" front bracket. Does it mess with the ACC camera? It looks like it would be really close.

I just installed the Sto N Sho. It literally took me 3 minutes to get the bracket on (loosen the small bolts under the front lip and then reattach). I then tested putting the plate on and off and it's done in 3 seconds flat! I live outside Chicago and will only put it on when I am parked in Chicago or at O'Hare Airport. PERFECT product...

I haven't mounted it, but once you position it where it's supposed to go you will see it doesn't interfere. Still trying to figure out what I'm going to do.
