Hi there,

i got a M340i equipped with the auxiliary heating (SA536) and i´m pretty happy withit.
While talking to FEMto about the unlock of ECUs made after 06/2022 he told me about the remote start (SA1CR) patch that is available for cars that can´t be equipped with it normally.
Now i looked into the parts catalogue and came across the auxiliary heating retrofit.
There´s warning that it´s forbidden to retrofit the SA536 auxiliary heating in cars with remote start.

Can someone confirm that it´s only possible to have one of the two options?

Why would i need both of them?
Because the auxiliary heating can heat the car in the winter while the remote start and cool down the car in the summer.

Remote start is a software upgrade with a FSC code, therefore the hardware should already be in the car along with the hardware for the aux heater, at least in the US that is. Ive never heard of any US gas model having this option. Is the aux heater only available on diesel models?

As far a i know, the SA536 aux heater is only available in countries with low temperature winters.

As for me, i´m able to use both options.
I can activate the remote start in the climate options to have it enabled or disable it and use the aux heater instead.

I’m in the UK and from the dealership remote start comes disabled, which sucks!

Not sure if it’s possible to get it coded in

No you can´t just code remote start.
The DME needs a FSC for remote start to work and BMW wont sell you this FSC.
The only way would be FEMto, but they stopped selling the remote start feature due to high demand of customer service.

Why would you want remote start? Your hybrid can already heat in the winter and cool in the summer...
