agreed - it's molded ABS plastic, how much different can it be?

It's not as if it has moving parts and precision cut to microns. Your purely paying an extra £60 for the BMW brand

Be interesting to see how that diamond pattern looks on the car. I was going to get the straight slats, as fitted, but I do like the look of that pattern.

It compliments the mesh below the bumper nicely. There's another thread on here with some great pictures although the car is blue.

Pirelli will say Runflat or RSC on the sidewall. Many now show the size as 225/40RF18 instead of the normal 225/40R18 way |

Also RFT often have a star mark, but most will have RSC on the sidewall as Don says.

The star mark denotes BMW homologation. It's not a given that star = Runflat as there are cases where they have OE tyres that are non Runflat.
Mercedes have MO, Porsche have N. If you take a 225/40R18 Pirelli as an example, they'll make a tyre with each of these markings (and many others) It's driven by what the car maker wants to achieve. Benz probably want to waft in comfort whereas Porsche likely want max grip. Same tyre size, same tread patterns, very different behaviours. Can you tell I've spent 25yrs in the tyre trade? 😁 |

Incidentally, what sort of deal did you get? Are you leasing?

Yes, leasing again. It was cheaper to get a ready built 330i M Sport compared to a factory build 318i SE! The only condition is that it has to be registered before the end of March.
The only option above the standard M Sport spec is sun protection glass. There’s a batch of them that have been built in a variety of colours apart from sunset orange, all with black leather. Last edited by SilverGrey; 01-21-2021 at 03:30 PM.. |

My dealer had a similar story but with cars that were not yet built. He offered the 330i M-Sport at £400 pcm on 3+47 as a factory order with colour and interior available to pick and again with sun protection glass. Build slots in week 6 for delivery first week in March. Don’t know how that compares I’m guessing you did much better if less than a 318i factory order.

Third question: with having exhausts either side does it still have the flap on one side which only opens in sport mode and / or WOT?
If it does, can it be frigged to keep both open? |

Looking at the tyres I can’t see Runflat or RSC on the sidewall. they are 225/45/18 and 255/40/18 Pirelli P7 Cinturato rated at 95Y. They do say extra load on the sidewall but I can’t decide if there’s any way to know they are runflats? Just checked and the rims are 790M and I have a tyre repair kit if that makes any difference.

They’re not. The markings are obvious if they’re there and the mobility kit confirms it. I’m pleased to hear it anyway.

I think cars fitted with non-run-flats have a mobilisation kit.

Agree. Mine came (unexpectedly) with non run flat tyres. It was only when I discovered the puncture repair kit (mobilisation ) in the boot and then phoned the dealer to have it confirmed.
