Just wondering how many of us there are with delayed deliveries waiting for a 21 plate? I know a few people have mentioned it.

I’m looking forward to getting my G21 - not long now!

Mine got to the dealer last Wednesday but I’m waiting until the 1st to collect. Dealer has told me what reg number has been allocated.

Car was delivered to dealer 15th Feb. Its been a tough wait, but holding out for 21 plate.

I'm in the same boat. Reg allocated but gotta wait till March 5th. It's gonna be a long 2 weeks

Same here, been at the dealer since 12th Feb.... '21 plate , delivery to me 5th March (edit)... can't wait to not be able to drive anywhere !

My dealer hasn't allocated the 21 plates yet, but to be fair they seem pretty slow at most things. Lots of chasing from my side, nothing proactive from them. I hope they aren't expecting me to use them for servicing....

My dealer told me last week it's being delivered between the 1st and 5th of March. Already booked in on Tuesday 9th for full m sport kit

I'm not getting if done by the dealer, but am getting it fitted professionally.

This is on top of the m-sport pro pack.

Does anyone have a rough idea how long it takes after being assigned a registration plate for that to appear on Insurance companies systems?
Seems unbelievably painful to explain the concept of a hybrid car to the advisors on the phone.

I asked my dealer the exact same question and he said that they allocated the plate now (as they already have done) but don't actually register with the DVLA until pick up day, in case the customer doesn't show (he said).

When I went on to my insurer (Admiral) it obviously could not find the car details from the plate but it was very easy to find the model (330i in my case but 330e was there too) and select that. I had no issues but obviously your insurer has a less-able system

Don't confuse them by even mentioning the word "hybrid" - simply tell them the model, i.e. a BMW 330e

Thanks. Unfortunately the DirectLine web-based form to complete to change the car gives up if it cannot find the reg number and suggests you start a chat with an online advisor. You dont get the option to manually choose.
In the end I called and got through to someone who seemed pretty efficient.
Just need to double check updated policy when it drops through the door in a day or two.

Ah OK - the Admiral web-form was very easy in that respect and just took a couple of minutes.

Just had the confirmation that mine (car, not mirror caps - as per the OP!) is going to be delivered at 11am on Monday.

Gonna take my 530D to webuyanycar on Sunday. Yes, I know I'd get more if I sold it privately, but WBAC is about £2k more than the dealer offered as px on the new car.

I expect it'll be a really slow weekend!

Please do yourself a big favour and get any nicks and paint marks quick fixed professionally before you take it in..... I did mine for about £100 thinking it was all good, but WBAC use a little light gadget and knock off £50-£75 for EVERY nick they see, and they will find them....

In short, you will NOT get what they first offer you online... they are sharks. And what is annoying is that they don't actually fix it themselves with the money they hold back (unless it is a real paint issue)

I was in a hurry and couldn't be arsed taking back to the paintshop bunch... and I lost nearly £1000, I lost patience !

Agreed, the examination is a sham. They have a rival called wiffle or wizzle (something like that) who are reportedly much better.
