Just out of curiosity, after you guys open the E-sys, click the “connect” button which target selector do you choose for g20?

I use the 20.03 one without DIRECT. My car is running the same March 2020 version albeit slightly older by the look of the last 3 digits (my car ends something like 526 and the one I use is a higher number).

Hi Shawn, not sure where to get the PSDZData. I've got a G20 with 03/2020.69. I have esysx, but boy I am confused how to use that program, it comes with a E-sys Documentation folder with a lot of guides but none to Esysx itself.

Thanks for any help!

Earlier I worked someone from Esys-x, he logged in via TeamViewer and everything was working up until the "Connection via VIN" is greyed out. He suggested I reset my battery, I did and even removed the negative terminal from both batteries since my car has two. I've been pouring over the forums trying to figure out what it is. I've followed the 5 steps from Shawn that I found searching around (thanks for that post!) and I believe everything is in order. I've read there is some zgw_search.exe tool, but for the life of me, I cannot find that.

If there is a way to verify that the car is establishing a connection I'd like to know. Thanks!

zgw_search.exe tool is of no use. It is indication only and non functional.

If you validate these 5 things, it should work:

1) The Target Connection Window should not be blank (It should show multiple target connections for different chassis')
2) ENET Cable must be good and making good contact in OBDII Port
3) Car must have proper voltage (Make sure motor is running if car is not on a Charger).
4) Laptop must not have Firewall or any Antivirus software running.
5) PC Lan Adapter should get a fallback IP address of 169.254.xxx.xxx (Make sure it is using DHCP and does not have a Static IP address assigned to it)

One last thing to do it Repair and Reset Windows TCP/IP Winsock:

https://help.iinet.net.au/resetting-...-winsock-reset

If you can't figure it out, you need to use same laptop on a different car and see if you have same issue or not, which will narrow it down to PC or Car as the issue and go from there.

I just tried coding Lane Change Assistant on my 07/20 330e with the following tools:
  • E-Sys 3.30.1
  • PSdZData Lite 4.25.12
  • LauncherPro 2.8.2.162
Thanks to the cheat codes I manged to find, change and save all three entries necessary, however I always get stuck while activating the FA.
There is just an infinite loading bar, no error message. I did not try to read/save/activate in the same session, as I've read that this causes problems.
But only reading and activating also leads to the infinite loading bar.
Does anyone know why and how i can get the FA to activate?
Thanks!

What happens when you press "Activate FA"?

A new small windows opens (titled activating an FA) which has a moving loading bar that just keeps loading infinitely, or at least 10 minutes, after that I cancelled because I didnt think it would end

Try running Launcher with Admin Rights.

May also need to increase java memory:

I've tried the admin mode before, did not change anything unfortunately.

Regarding the java memory:
  • downloaded & installed vcredist_x64.exe
  • downloaded jre7 from the mega link provided
  • installed the jre
  • moved contents from jre folder in esys installation to a backup folder on desktop
  • copied contents from programfiles/java/jre7 to jre folder in esys installation
  • launched launcher pro in admin mode
  • put in 2048 as custom memory
  • after few seconds of the esys launchscreen the following message appeared:

Any other ideas?

EDIT
I've tried with a newer, JRE 8 x64 version and now I get a more detailled error after again copying the files from java installation to esys installation (second image)
