Our Mexico build M340xi has been moving slowly along since ordering early Jan.

Anyone else here making better progress?

Yeah, yours does seem slow with that gap from Quality to Final Assembly. I ordered mine on January 20th. Some details below. I had a modifiable allocation from dealer.

Our SA says there was some RAM hold up, though was not showing in the recall tool. Perhaps it had to do with Driving Assist? We're clear of that now, but it's now the transport wait. <sigh>

You guys are lucky man... I ordered mine in mid January and it was stuck in QC for like 5-6 weeks. Reached out to my sales person who advised that they're missing the RAM module..

Just entered final assembly now.. which means another 1 month or so for shipment ....

Same experience as you with regards to QC due to RAM.

I've been at Ready to Transport for a week now. Called the Genius line on Friday - they said my car is supposedly on the rail to the port now and that if I call in a week they may have the boat it'll be on. Not sure why tracking isn't reflecting this info, but perhaps worth a call to Genius for yours?

The tracking doesn't update worth a darn in my experience. My car never updated for ready for transport, awaiting carrier assignment or at the port when leaving Mexico. I found out it was on a boat by calling Genius and they gave me the departure date, ship name and estimated arrival at Baltimore. After that it magically updated to in transit. Call Genius, that's what they are there for I do wish the tracking capability was better but it is what it is.

Good to know thanks jp0319 . Just called today - they said our car is still showing in transit to port, but it may already be there. (to your point, online tracking still shows as "Ready to Transport") He quoted 2-3 weeks for cars at port to get assigned to a carrier and another 2 weeks from port to NorCal where I am. He stated given covid and war, the typical 2-3 weeks may be minimum.

And just like that, as others have said, our car has flipped to "In Transit". Our SA also informed us today that our car is due at Oxnard on 4/26, so we're getting there!

Ugh. Assuming you've gotten no explanation for why it's been sitting there? Fingers crossed for both of us.

No, Genius had no answer and my SA has no definitive answer. There are no holds, or recalls that I can find. The only possibility is that it's the M performance exhaust time to be installed. The dealer received a message from BMW a while back that they would be removing MPEs from builds due to lack of availability, but if they removed it from mine I'd hope that the car would have gotten through VDC quicker.

Called Genius last week and learned that our car was on the Grand Legacy from MX to Oxnard VPC. It arrived yesterday (vs. 26th per our SA). Tracker now shows back to At the Port. Assumed tracker was linear, but I guess it makes sense that the car is literally back At the Port and will switch again to In Transit when (or rather if ) it ever leaves the VPC.

I'm planning to call Genius again today to see if there are any updates.

So according to Genius, the car has been released to a carrier from the VPC and will be picked up on 5/1 and at the dealership here in NorCal 5/5! 🤞
