My last 3 series was an F31 330d xdrive .
Then I had an S4 avant for 3 yrs.
then a diesel S4 for last 4 years .

Whilst Audi have been great , I have decided to plump for a nearly new m340i touring .. fully loaded.. 3K miles at my local dealer .

S4 is/ was a lovely space to be - and for next 2 weeks , but looking dated now . And Diesel . Great engine , but … cabin is fantastic too .

Pick up end of March .

There is nothing in the Audi line up that excites me . All very dated now .. and when you spec it up, they are super expensive and old Hence , return to 3 series .

Oddly enough, lower insurance for m340i vs S4 diesel ..go figure !

Looking forward to post some pictures .

I had an A6 Avant as before my 330i and I much prefer the 330i to drive. However, the A6 had the B&O sound system which is a different league, no - a different sport - from the utter shite in the BMW.

If you want to look good, get an Audi. If you want to go good, get a BMW.

I met an S4 in the road recently and he couldn't keep up with the M340i.

Its got enough "M" to keep you interested but you can turn it on or off as you wish. You'll love it.

If you worried about the performance difference, we have had both in the family, brother had the current S4. Lovely car, really liked it. Almost sounded ok for a derv.
Couldn’t get near my M340i though.
Plenty of YouTube comparisons to muse on whilst you await delivery.

He sold it for a C43 in the last V6 guise, still can’t match mine🤣

Yeah they’re lovely cars - I had a sport on with an S5 in my 840i GC and expected it to pull (slightly more powerful on paper and probably lighter), but I quite comfortably pulled away from it through 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Perhaps they’re not telling the truth about the power!
