Any recommendations for alloy wheel repair in NW (Chester / Wirral / Liverpool)?

See attached for what I did to my left front 792M today. I was a bit angry with myself... 😭

I have sanded / lacquered similar before on other older cars, but as these are only a few months old I'm thinking I'll go with a professional this time and try a SMART / mobile repair first rather than a refurb / recut, any thoughts? Recommendations for anyone in my area? there are quite a few local on the web but obviously have no idea if they're any good or not.

Wife scuffed her alloys back in Oct. She had wheel repair through the lease and they used Essex Smart Repair (not close for you). I'm sure others are similar but took them a few hours just on the driveway and the results were really good.

When the alloys were clean, you could make out where the repair was if you looked closely. I just had a look and when the wheels are a bit dirty, it's impossible to find the spot.

Here's a before picture, it was quite bad!

The good thing though is at least it is well away from the spokes where keeping the profile can be tricky.
I reckon a smart repair could be enough especially as it doesn't look like it's gone too deep into the metal?

Thanks for the replies. Yes it's fairly superficial, I only just caught it... Think I'll try that in the first instance. If anyone has any recommendations for someone good in my area they would be gratefully received.

Would have been able to if you were in the NE as opposed to the NW!

I did a DIY repair on one of my wife's alloys a good few years back using materials suggested by a forum member from way back then and here are the before and after photos.
Maybe a bit more superficial than yours but not that much difference.

The Wheel Company in Seaham did mine when I went off road on Wrynose Pass. 100% quality job if anybody is looking for a NE recommendation.

Just as a reference, I did very similar damage to mine a few months ago and took it to The Wheel Specialist at Garforth near Leeds. They said it needed to be fully stripped, recut, re-painted, re-lacquered, etc, a full refurb. I said ok, and they did an absolutely perfect job for £138 which I thought was pretty good value.

I'd probably just look at a smart repair for that mark. A full strip and diamond cut will mean if you have any further 'worse' scuffs you only have limited amounts of diamond cuts you can do before there is not enough material left on the wheel.

They’re excellent - they straightened my wheel after whacking a pothole after just turning up on the day. Even gave me a lift back to my office 10 mins up the road. The one in Newcastle is good too.

Yeah, hoping a smart repair will cover it for that reason. If not there is a branch of the Wheel Specialist near us I think. Out of interest, how long did that full refurb take on your wheel B6WAF?

It was very quick, as I remember. I am lucky in that I have a separate set of winter wheels, so as soon as they were fitted, I dropped my loose damaged summer wheel off at TWS Leeds on the Monday. I told them there was no rush (not needed again until sometime in March!). They booked the job in for Wednesday morning and it was ready for collection later that week. Used them a couple of times previously and always highly delighted, but bear in mind it is a franchise (I believe) so TWS Leeds is not necessarily the same as TWS anywhere else.

Another thumbs up for these guys, The Wheel Specialist at Newcastle.
Used them last year when they did a full all round refurb on the alloys on my wife's 220i coupe. She decided she wanted them as original so diamond cut spokes and around the rim on high gloss black. Did an absolutely superb job and very reasonable price about £120 a corner if I remember right.
Interestingly the GTechniq detailer I use locally uses these guys if any of his customers need wheel refurbs doing prior to detailing as he reckons they do pretty much the best job in the North East.
