Reason I ask is because some down pipes like the one I have on my 2021 m340i Does not trigger a check engine light, it’s a Active Autowerke and these downpipes cost around $1499.00 So on your car you just can’t shut the check engine light off. You have to have your ECU unlocked with someone like mission performance or MHD. ( just google something like for example , “unlocking my 2019 bmw 330i ecu using MHD “ or mission performance. Here is some information that you can read up on to sorta get an idea of what your looking at and how to do things. Below is some good information that will help you understand what you’re going to need to do. I’m sure others will chime in and have better advice. https://f92.bimmerpost.com/forums/ar...f-778-p-3.html By the way the check engine light isn’t going to harm the car. It’s just annoying having a light there. And I personally don’t want a check engine light, so there are remedies. |

(A flashing light indicates a more serious problem like an overheating engine or engine misfires, detonation about to occur, which can cause irreversible damage. If the check engine light is flashing, you should stop, turn off the car.) A catted downpipe that isn’t of a high quality usually throw a cell and when I say isn’t high quality is that the downpipe maybe great quality but the the cat they use isn’t a cat that will prevent a check engine light. For example my AA catted downpipe cost $1400.00, they use a high quality cell cat 4.5" high flow GESI catalytic converter that will NOT produce a Cel light. GESi UHO-Series Catalytic Converters are EPA registered and compliant in 49 states and fully OBD2 compliant. A few companies out there that makes a good down pipes that don’t activate cel AA is just one of the few that many have trusted. |
