BP pulse public charging
Usually use pod point public chargers to charge my 330e when our and about but today had to use a BP pulse charger in a multi-storey.
Useless website, app marginally better Cost a fortune compared to pod point Anyway - shocked to see they charge £10 an hour if you leave it plugged in for longer than 90 mins from the start of charge - is this true? Has anybody actually had this happen to them? My car takes 3+ hours to charge! Crazy Can understand the rationale if spaces are tight but when there is 10 ev spaces and one in use this seems a bit steep |

Its probably because the charger is a fast/rapid charger type not really for hybrids (PHEV) but BEV cars. So they don't want people to hog the chargers.
Bit frustrating I know as you don't get much charge for 90 mins. I see the new RAV4 PHEV has a faster charging connection. Its definitely needed for next generation cars. 3.5 hours is too long to charge out in public charging locations.

It’s not worth charging most PHEV’s on public chargers. I only ever use the free one at tesco. I can get a few miles for painful hour I have to spend there, or if visiting a customer I’ll plug in somewhere whilst I have my lunch.

The Pug 508 and KuGa have 7kw charging capability iirc. I’m hoping the next gen PHEVs will up the game. My sweet spot would be a 60mile range and fast charging. |

The Pug 508 was on my list of cars but was horrendously expensive in terms of BIK compared to the 330e I have.

The shouldnt be too bad, the PHEV is a 10% car the same as the 330e. The contribution was high for me, which made it pricey overall.
BMW have been doing great deals with the lease companies, so it was well cheap on our scheme, only the superb sportline was cheaper from a PHEV point of view. Oh and the small A250E. |
