Alignment after or before installing spacers?

BIMMERPOST

I am planning to install lowering sprigs on my m440. I was wondering if I should do an alignment with or without spaces after installing springs.

Thank you!

Spacers don't change the alignment. Personally I'd be doing it with spacers, if you are going to run them, as the geo isn't being set to BMW ride height dimensions. Use the new ride height you are going to run, as the base ride height.

I am assuming this will be done at the time of the alignment right, the height set?
Also, do you think its a good idea to do an alignment at the dealer or take it somewhere else?

Ride height is going to depend on what you are fitting. Not sure if BMW will be interested in a non stock setup. A good shop with experience (possibly with lowered cars) is probably your best bet.

sorry bringing back old thread, but you think Dealer wont be interested in doing alignment on a car that is lowered?
