How to delete stored fault codes?
G26 i4 M50, ISTA 4.39.x and 4.41.30 PSdZ... Got a few stored fault codes, carried out all the test plans according to ISTA then cleared them. But they would come back at the next drive, it stated it's not current/not present but stored, and ISTA test plan said they can be ignored if it happened only once, but can't seem to clear them for good..
Really want to save a trip to the dealer, knowing they are using the same thing to diagnosis lol Is there any proper procedure needed to clear stored codes? Thanks!! |

Which faults?
There are faults that require to complete a test, procedure or driving cycle specified. Read about DME: Healing of permanent SAE fault codes https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...69&postcount=2 |

Combined Charging Unit Fault count: 1 Message(Zustand Fahrzeug CON_VEH) Missing Fault code: D79714 Status Error not present now, but already stored |

Clear it using other tools and try again if any tool or ista can read it.
This types of fault sometimes appear during startup or at specific time and are never active faults. If you dont see it then depends on your ista. But first make sure that if you clear it, it doesnt come back. |
