I was just thinking.
I sure hope Bimmerpost doesn't perform the LCI Facelift to the G80.G82 Forum car at the top of the page.

What a bummer if that's the case.

Still weighing 24 vs 25... I'm still not 100% sure what's actually being changed but this is all I gathered
  • Slight HP Bump
  • Matrix LEDs
  • iDrive 8.5 (Better Resolution/Processing Power?)
  • Silver wheels
  • Color Additions
  • Flat-bottom wheel
  • AC Vent & Control Changes w/lighting

I'm neutral on the headlight update, but I prefer the laser lights. I'm also not in a rush, but I guess that changes if I can decide. If I go 24, I have to act now!

Is anyone else on the fence? Most of these features are a "push" to me and don't really present a benefit over 2024 unless I'm missing something.

  • Slight HP Bump - 20 HP imo is negligible, can always tune for more
  • Matrix LEDs - Will come down to your personal preference
  • iDrive 8.5 (Better Resolution/Processing Power?) - improved climate control functionality from what I’ve heard?
  • Silver wheels - can always be changed/purchased later
  • Color Additions - don’t think any new colors are being offered, can always go BMW individual color or wrap car
  • Flat-bottom wheel - Looks really cool, but will most likely be able to be retrofitted down the line.
  • AC Vent & Control Changes w/lighting - Negligible change imo

Keep in mind MY 25 M3 will start production in July, so earliest you’d receive it is August or September. I think the most important factors are if you like the new headlights and if you don’t mind waiting till near end of the year to take delivery.

I was in a similar situation and opted to go with MY24, I like the laser lights and didn’t like the new ones. If they made a taillight change I would have reconsidered.

You have a similar line of thinking to that of me.

The colors I mentioned were from the M4 announcement, but I have no idea if those trickle over to the G80. I'm going Individual, anyway.

I plan on modding the car pretty heavily, so the HP bump is not a factor.

Those were just individual colors anyway, you’ll still need approval if wanting to order them.

The colors they showcased were BMW Individual colors (Chalk and some nice purple/pink color). You can use this site to visualize them on the M3.

I’m in this exact position! I have an MY24 going into production anytime now for a proposed second week in March delivery that I got a fantastic deal on.

I was going to wait for MY25 as I actually quite like the LCI and my original delivery was end of May so a few extra months won’t hurt. However, it would be a gamble as I know the deal won’t be as strong. With the deal I have now, and the fact the car arrives in 4 weeks I think I am taking the MY24. I will keep for 3 years and potentially get a last of the run ICE in 2027 before they go hybrid

Although, I may change my mind again tomorrow!

I remember when the facelift came for the E92M car and I signed up for the last year which was the 2013. It was a nice improvement over the original batch.

Have to say that I did mid-cycle LCI as a 2023 with the G80 and I think it’s a sweet spot since I got the 50th anniversary badges from the factory, laser LEDs, and ID8 which I do like

good luck to those who are getting the new ID and front end. It’s still a fantastic car esp. amongst the competition.

Local AUS specs on lci m4 still noted laser headlights, not sure if typo given all the forum talk

Here we can’t order full leather with a manual, so I’m interested to know if “luxury instrument panel” is a rejig of the old sensatec dash - trying to find pics of a base lci 4 series atm

The 2025 M3 will also have a bump in MSRP and individual options so you can save some money if you lock in pricing on a 2024 model now if the LCI changes are not special enough to wait and pay extra for.

Who doesn't?

I'd go color instead of buckets.

Good news, individual paint is only $4500 and the buckets are $4500, so… Bam! I just saved you $1000.

My car has the sport seats, have no use for the buckets, so there’s my answer. Also, have had an ind color and I think that’s also a waste of money, though I’d consider going that route again, but I most likely won’t.

The test mules have been photographed with their taillights exposed and they’re not laser. Same with the F80 LCI, they didn’t get updates to the tails.

It would make no sense if BMW updated the less popular G82 with upgraded taillights but then neglected to bless the G80 with the same update.
The F80 got updated taillights in the first LCI, but nothing was changed in the 2nd. And, again, the test miles just have regular G20G80 taillights, the G82 test mules taillights were always covered to hide the update. Believe what you want, but there won’t be an update.

And why do you think the G82 is less popular? They make a lot more of them.

The wait is well worth it to me. I also look forward to the new “brushed aluminum” replacing the hideous and cheap looking rhombicle trim.
You go from asking questions about the G8X LCI's to now knowing definitive information that nobody else on this forum knows? EL OH EL

They are definitively not updating the G80 tail lights with the impending LCI. What is so hard to understand guy.

Edit: To add more, the 3 series LCI directly translates onto the M3 LCI. Same thing for the 4 series and M4. Now... The 3 series LCI already happened. It got new headlights and kept same old tails. These exact same changes will apply to the LCI M3. BMW isn't making special tails just for the M3. Continuing on, the 4 series LCI came out recently and featured updated headlights AND tails so therefore the new M4 will be receiving them. This has already been confirmed.. if you look up pictures of the 2025 4 series and M4, they both have the CSL laserlights (tails).

Get what you like. I've chosen to get a '25 based on setting myself up financially for the vehicle. If I had 90k to drop, I'd opt for the soonest allocation I could get. Since you're impartial to either, create a T table listing all the pros/cons. Then go with the one that wins.
