I love the headlights frame connection to the grill. It pays homage to the 80/90's BMW's where the headlights are circles and portion around the headlights touching the grill is what the frame of the current BMW's is suppose to express. Looks great!

Well it's a render, so of course it's only a hypothetical discussion, but I'm not really digging it so far. The front looks a lot like the current 5 series (which isn't an ugly car, but I was a bit disappointed since it looks too conservative and a bit boring). And I'm afraid that the new tail light design isn't my taste (at least in case of the new X4 and 8 series), I don't see any BMW in it, but japanese and french car design language.

But let's wait for the final product.

My concern is the driving dynamics. Will it return to being a BMW? Or will it continue to be numb and boring like the F30? They absolutely shat the bed on the current model.
couldn't agree more to the first part, but disagree with you on the second part.

the f30 is one of the best 3 series i've ever owned as an OVERALL car. i own a 328i and damn it serves its purpose well. the e90 was the most shit model they ever produced. more people will agree with this than anything.

I also spotted Lexus at the back end straight away.

I'm predicting a G21 facelift coming pretty damn quickly after this.

It will not be popular...

Suddenly even more grateful for my F30. The G20 is a cool looking car, but the renders make it look a bit more luxury than sporty. Maybe the final product will change my mind.

I have high hopes for this platform and its M equivalent.

Time will tell. If this is a close indicator of the production version I'll be hanging onto my F80 for sure.

Rear lights reminding me of Audi but I guess that's where they're going with new X4, 8 Series rear ends

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

Hmmm. Very very close but subtle important details.
The flank crease at the rear across the door shuts and the obligatory Air Breather.

I agree the F30 is a great all-around car. But aside from tech it was a really half-assed effort from BMW. It feels very dated relative to the competition, especially inside. There was a steep drop off in terms of steering feedback, to the point where it didn't even feel like a BMW anymore.

Idk what your issue is with the E90. It was excellent, I still love driving mine. The steering is telepathic, the interior is higher quality than the F30, and it's styling is still very modern. When it was new it was heads and shoulders above any of its competitors. Aside from reliability costs I've never heard a negative thing about it.

You 'mirin?
