Yes I just called the hotline, they said production date is expected for first or second week of February. He said when it appears like that they typically start the last days of the first week Thursday or Friday. So we may potentially have the same production date.

That sounds like a lot less pops and bangs vs the 2020 with MPE.

It's frickin amazing!! Sure glad I didn't wait until 2021 to jump into the drivers seat of a M340i. Not sure I would have gone through with it if the exhaust note sounded like the 2021. But to each his/her own. Now, out to the garage to listen the that sweet exhaust soundtrack. Lol |

This thread feels like it's full of a bunch of teenage boys.
The car drives beautifully. Enjoy it. If you want a loud car, tune the BMW or buy an american 'sports' car with loud exhaust and absolutely zero refinement.

I can see where you're coming from with that statement. The thing is I had an m240 before this. I put the Dinan midpipe on after having the car for a year which brought out lots of pops and bangs. Really enjoyed the car a lot more from that point on. Just makes the driving experience feel even more aggressive. I'm sure I'm gonna love the car either way.

The exhaust still sounds aggressive and fairly loud just no pops and minor burbles. After hard driving and really warmed up it does burble a lot more however the volume is the same as the 20 minus the exaggeration of pops etc. The whole exhaust thing is blown way out of proportion. It's like people think it's quieter or something. The stock 21 exhaust is still aggressive and pretty loud for a stock exhaust in sport plus when driving around

Was not sure what I was getting (MY 21 or 20) with mine being built end of September 2020 in Munich and conflicting reports from the dealer and BMW. Eventually arrived as a 2020 MY in late November. For me, that exhaust note completes the Jekyll and Hyde transition perfectly. /another 40 - something teenager. No doubt whichever you get - it is an amazing vehicle. |

11 pages on sound! Wow! That must make my '20 worth about $2K more than a '21 on resale a couple of years from now.

It being slower makes that a push.

Nobody has confirmed that a 2020 is slower (not even BMW's posted numbers). The exhaust at least is objectively nicer sounding (or more aggressive sounding) on the 2020, subjectively speaking of course.
