As testament to BMWs barrage of 'spy shots' - and my ability to accept change - I have actually started to like the look of the camouflage exterior . . . that is some serious branding!

With no warranty. I’m not a fan of aftermarket tuning personally. Rather just have what they give us in terms of power.
Suspension etc is different as it’s all bolt on bolt off. I’m not rich enough to handle an engine rebuild due to tuning.

I really don't like it in pictures - I do think it could have looked great if it matched the approximate size and shape of the CSL Concept car, and I am hoping that's what the G87 looks like. Aka, if the revised grills were ~20% smaller, then the design change would have been more proportional to the rest of the car and "worked" in my opinion. It will be interesting to see how it looks in the flesh.

I'm going to keep watching until official pics are released. I'm not a fan of what I'm seeing, but sometimes seeing the full package it has a different impact.
Coming from an E30, E42, E90, F80 owner that has been purchasing new BMWs regularly for more than 2 decades, this is the first new release I've been on the fence about. Between the looks and subscription talk, I think I may be moving on. I was even a supporter of moving from the V8 back to the I6 even with the mounds of crap I got in the forums for it! |

The G80 does look better than the G82 but the overall look to me falls inline with a Nissan GTR and that is probably why most of us have our doubts about its looks. But I know it will sell well if BMW incentivizes the crap out of these at 70%+ residuals since its like driving for free. |

Here is a theory:
M starts to realize the base and competition are not worthy of the power dome after all...what's next can be the carbon roof, or maybe it's missing already... The reservation of these two carbon piece is going to add significantly to the value proposition of the CS, with which they look pretty determined to ask 40-45% premium over the base.

I do not think it will grow on anyone. Ugly is ugly. We saw the first renders more than a year ago - it is still as ugly now - and not just the front
Grill dominates the whole car and you can’t stop looking at it - like an ugly wound Rear udders continue the m2 tradition of huge mufflers No manual handbrake dictates electric button and no proper rear brakes- bad for track Auto gear box -potential to overheat at track Awd transfer case - potential to overheat at track Ugly asymmetric radar sensors and no place for license plate for usa market Manual car will miss on all the electric assist features and be less powerful Acc Lane departure Autonomous driving Self parking Self back up |

Typically, not always, on test mules they do NOT give away the wheel design.

Get better eyes. ...and most test mules have the actual production wheels, just usually all black.

Looks like a straight up 50/50 mix between the M8 Comp wheels and the 666M. I will miss my CS wheels if these are the only options (but I get to avail myself of the best grilles ever designed so who I am to complain?).

On another note, I am shocked a man of your stature in this community has sprint cell service!

1) I am on employee rate plan that is dramatically low with unlimited everything (...$50-ish a month AFTER taxes ). 2) I've been with them since 1999. 3) Sprint just recently merged with T-Mobile, so the network just improved substantially. It was immediately noticeable when I was in a canyon the other day. Previously I had no service, but now I get service. Where I am in SoCal, Sprint hasn't ever really been an issue for me. Elsewhere in the U.S. may be different though. |
