Catless downpipe with no CEL
Just purchased a catless downpipe. Is there anyway to not get a check engine light? I have a 2021 m340i so flashing is not an option.

You think or you know? I'd double check. There may be legal issues preventing them from saying such.

Can purchase a maxi scan tool from amazon and just clear it every time . Pretty much what the jb4 used to do.
Pita but it will work

How's that possible? I have a vrsf catted dp and it gave cel until I got a tube, how did tires that's catless not give you CEL?

Most if not all trusted tuners refuse to do so now because of the heavy EPA fines. Its not worth it to them to lose their business because of it

I have a 22 M340 with VRSF catless at the moment. I installed an O2 spacer but the check engine is still there. Is anyone aware about the angle it’s suppose to be installed at or if I need 1 or 2 spacers? Let me know please as it’s cold here in Canada and I need my remote start in the mornings🤣.

A 200 cell might be a better starting point to use the spacers.

All catless will throw a CEL, repeatedly. Spacers cannot work at all on a catless. And they pretty much don't work on catted DP's with this car. Too sensitive.
Without a tune that suppresses the CEL, all you can do is keep clearing the CEL. The only alternative is to use a catted DP that has a cat that cleans enough to not trigger a CEL. That typically means a certain type of (eg. GESI) 400cell cat. Most high flow cats are single 200cell and will throw a CEL. The cats that don't throw a CEL (there are only a couple) are single 400 cell and are more restrictive but still flow a bit better than the factory which has TWO cats the first one is 600cell and then a secondary cat that is 400cell. |
