My first BMW was a 320. My second was a 340. I could immediately feel the weight difference of the 6-cyl over the nose of the 340.

With that said, in 2024 I'll be looking at getting into an lci m3 or the new m5. Will certainly drive both, but at this point I don't know which way I'd go. Sometimes, I think man I miss the comforts of the m5. But once I step into the m3, I always go back to wow this is def more fun. Personally, I don't think the m3 is a very comfortable daily, as compared to the m5. I love it, but you definitely give up something in convenience and comfort moving to the m3. You do gain the fun factor though. 🤷‍♂️ |

I dunno. I have both an F90 and G80. They both have their strengths. My F90 is my daily. It's great for my commute (all 11 miles of it into and out of NYC everyday) -- it's fast and comfortable. It goes whenever you want. Super reliable. I thought (stupidly) that as soon as I got my G80, I'd easily be able to get rid of the F90 as my f80 was missing the AWD I craved and the driver asst I love in the M5.
However, the F90 is just so engaging and well controlled, even for how big it is. It's ALWAYS fast, at every point in any gear. The G80, while nimble and "quick" is nowhere near as fast at any point, and it's kinda discouraging knowing it's significantly lighter. I'd strike a bunch of weight from mine (titanium exhaust, lw wheels, ceramics) - hopefully a tune will change my mind. |

Good points there. Having both is certainly a good solution.
I should’ve mentioned my f90 was full bolt on and my g80 is lightly modded with racechip and xhp. If you keep your cars stock, my comments may not be applicable. Apologies there. The driving experience of a stock g80 vs even a lightly modded one are quite different. Same of course for the f90 and, well, any ride. |
