Driving is about the experience, the emotion the car gives you, and puts that smile on your face. How a car looks is also a big factor for many of us.

After trading in my 5 series for Tesla model Y performance really embraces what I’ve said above. I love the Tesla for what it is, but my manual G82 with the mods I have is my happy place.
Well said

Is this article actually new? Not sure that I agree that it hurts. I use mine a LOT, the seats are brilliant and it can do “docile”. Throttle needs respect though!

Bingo. Even a Cybertruck with AT tires will show the CSL its hiney.

I just wish the CSL came with a stick shift instead of the ubiquitous, parts bin ZF steptronic.

90s manual cars are where it’s at for me these days.

Let’s be honest. These won’t appreciate. At best they will depreciate less quickly. Wait a few years and I bet there are deals to be had.

I think it’s impossible to tell if they’ll go up over time or not. The original CSL was Ł60k when it came out in the UK, dropped to around Ł25k and then went up to Ł120k-Ł150k. And there are far more of them in the UK market than there are M4CSLs. Only time will tell. One thing I will say though is that the car gets a TON of attention. It’s easily the most attention grabbing car I’ve ever owned and that includes GT3 ownership and for future values, I think that bodes well.

My local dealer has 2 for sale. Doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to sell them.

It really is a taste thing. If you just like being part of the workings of the car and not just “the pilot” I get it. But I like piloting the car. Not being the moron who can accidentally money shift it at the end of a long straight into a really hard turn. Plus I hate changing clutches. Hate it.

to those that say that they wish it came in a manual, I probably wish the same but I am not unhappy it is an automatic. All of my other cars are manual. This car is fast and the automatic suits it. I think it does well on the track too despite early reviews saying that the downshifts are not good. I have not had a problem with it on or off the track. The auto shifts so fast it's almost DCT like

This month’s car and driver cover story was racing a bunch of new cars. M4 CSL, GT4 RS, Corvette Z06. The latter two beat the M4 times by a bit, and are in the $140-160K range in the US market9apps

I do not know about the corvette but the cheapest GT4 RS I could find was around $230,000 with over 11,000 miles. $250,000+ with low mileage. Not the same price range…

Hey Steve - the megacorporation that bought your dealership (now BMW of Camarillo) ripped me off.

Any way you can help me get recourse?

2023 BMW M4 CSL First Test: So Fast It Actually Hurts

It is unmatched as a "track car." Of course, the Xdrive is faster from 0 to 60 mph in other situations, but I'm confident that the CSL is a better track car right out of the box than my M3cs. I completely agree with what you're saying, but I believe it goes beyond. Yes, definitely not on a regular basis since it actually hurts your body. To all of the girls and lads who love BMW, happy holidays!

It's a beautiful car, regardless and I kind of wish I'd waited a year and gotten one myself instead of my G82.
