As others say, if you show a new car in an ad and barely let people see the front, I guess there is nothing more to explain...

Usually you always show the front at the beginning, cause this is mostly the highlight of a car....not here. Let's see how the sales go, but I guess this car is gonna go from one of the favourites to a big fail.
There is absolutely nothing classy anymore...it simply looks overstyled and (for me) like some japan tuning playground...

Not sure what BMW is trying to do with their designs...but there is no general design language anymore between the various models...every car has different headlight signature, different rear light signature, some have still normal looking kidneys, others giant ones, and lastly they even introduced lungs instead of kidneys....what happend, have they lost all good designers to KIA, Hyundai and so on?!

Literally the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this video yesterday was why there were so few shots of the front of the car. Is it possible that people at BMW (especially from the marketing department) are actually getting a bit nervous?

I never thought I'd be saying this but I guess I'll be switching sides to Audi...I've only had bmw's before. This design is absolutely UGLY. Even it's own mother wouldn't find it appealing. BMW should be embarrassed at this atrocity. This article has quotes from BMW's head of design, Domagoj Dukec stating that this grill won't infect (my word not his) the rest of the lineup, so that's good news. What I find comical is this statement:

"It's not about beauty or ugliness. ... A successful design is if it's unmistakable."

So butt ugly is as good as striking beauty, by that definition, since you easily recognize and remember both. Got it. So why not go with BFU (butt f'in ugly), since that's much easier to come up with.

An even lazier approach would have been to just offer the old model but only in puke green and sewage brown. "Unmistakable" and would have the same number of "just want to be different" consumers willing to buy it. Could've saved $$$ on the design!

Most people on this forum hate it. So do most car journalists. So do all youtube journalists and content makers. Even those last ones who have to kiss up to the companies for access to cars, events and free stuff have discreetly expressed their dislike of it or said that "it's bold and takes getting used to". So basically the majority of people, including the youtubers who MUST suck up to the companies have hated on it.

I am not telling you that you should too, but that's what's going on. Acting like you dont notice it, or dont know what's going on is silly. It's like saying "what is the Corona Virus" amid this whole pandemic. How can you NOT see the negative reactions to the car, even if you like it yourself?

Pretty telling that the front is not shown until 3:45 in to the video... Never before have i ever seen a silk sheet pull off a brand new body styled car, ass first.... I think BMW knows they have a problem...with this 3...errr... 4 series

Standard slight of hand.... "look at the back of the car first! and have looked at the sides??? now look at the gadgets.... the front? forget the front!

Even more disappointing, is comparing this monstrosity to the vertical grill beauties of the past. Absolutely sinful!!! My 72 has vertical grills and they look beautiful ....not like this, where the car looks like it holding it's engorged, chrome ringed testicles in its mouth.
