I can't see it being just $50k given that the current 340i M Sport, C43 AMG, and S4 all come in closer to the $60K range.

interesting... considering the lead model of the M340 is the xdrive version they clearly have plans for xdrive parity. Also the adaptive suspension IS available on xdrive 330 so it is really just brakes and diff that would be missing, suspension can be ordered equally. my guess is the diff is the limiting factor here, considering it will be STD on the M340 we know an xdrive compatible diff is coming

I see these possibilities
1. late availabilty so the xdrive compatible versions of the diff all go into production at once (M340 and 330)
2. they dont think the take rate of the diff for the 330i in US will be high enough and USA xdrive buyers who would be interested in upgrading all the way to the diff are also the same customers who will upgrade to the M340.

Finding out if the diff is offered on xdrive in the EU will be helpful

Nice. Imagine those people paying markup on a 3 series though

I won't be surprised if the take rate of the diff is .5% or less on the 330i.

Its bundled with m-sport brakes and adaptive suspension for $2500 which i'd guess almost no one will buy.

On the m340i its standard without adaptive suspension. I don't care for adaptive suspension so for say $1500-1600 I'd at least consider it but if you are forced to take it with adaptive suspension its a pretty large amount for a diff and brakes and a suspension you really didn't care for (its not like sport suspension on a 330i is going to be back breaking). Audi has the their diff / adaptive suspension on the s4 in a seperate package for $2500 as well and even there I bet its not that high a take rate.... BMW is probably right in figuring the enthusiasts who would even consider it would be getting the bigger engine anyway and just made it standard (or as i'd like to call it... a non optional option, and the margins on options I think are higher than the base car itself).

Wireless charging is $500. Geez. I guess this shouldn't be too surprising especially for the first year.

On another note, it looks like the non runflat tires are only available with the track package which requires adaptive suspension. Bummer. The only way to get the LSD and M Sport Brakes are by ordering the track handling package. Again, I assume this is only for the first year run. A real THP should come with passive dampers, IMO.

Yeah this for me is excessive. Buying premium pack makes me feel like "i'm paying money for carplay and won't even use it". Mercedes has android auto AND carplay for $350 on the C class, and there isn't an annual fee (I use android, so premium pack is well that much less valuable to me). Wireless charging is ridiculous for that price too. You can buy a 3 coil charging pad and wire it into that little tray for ~$10...... I guess all manufacturers are guilty of this, the dealership I bought my audi at, ordered "smartphone cables (1 micro usb and 1 lightning)" for $180 msrp on every A4 they had.

So, about ordering leather...

Per the pricing guide, it looks like the only package that includes leather is the Luxury Package (ZPL). However, you can't order Luxury Package (ZPL) with M Sport Package (ZMP). Also, to order the Premium Package (ZPP), which is the only way to get Head-up Display, you have to add leather. BY the way, Premium Package seems very reasonable at $2,800 for heated steering wheel, heated seats, head-up display, digital instrument cluster, upgraded CID with Nav, Apple CarPlay for 1-year, and then whatever Connected Package Pro means. But it seems to really mean $2,800 [premium package] + $1,700 [required leather addition] = $4,500

As long as I can remember, had five 3-Series over the years, premium package always included leather at a reduced amount compared to ordering leather as a stand alone option. I am not offended by the pricing given I was expecting it to be tremendously higher given the rising prices of high-optioned F30s, F10s, and G30s, but I am not liking the idea of paying $1,700 for just leather.

So, if I order a car with:
*Driving Assistance Professional Package (ZDY)
*M Sport Package (ZMP)
*Premium Package (ZPP)

1. Is it an additional $1,700 for leather?

2. Is there any way to tell if there will be a credit or some price reduction for leather when it's added due to the requirements of the Premium Package?

The Luxury Package (ZPL) includes: 4UR Ambient Lighting

It looks like the only way to get 4UR Ambient Lighting is with Luxury Package, and you can't order Luxury Package with M Sport Package.

Does anyone know:

1. How is 4UR Ambient Lighting different from the standard ambient lighting?

2. Have the official photos included pictures with the standard ambient lighting or the 4UR Ambient Lighting option?

It said $1700 for leather, and you have to get leather to get premium pack is how I interpreted it.

My $59k 330i build... Let me know if I missed anything.

I wonder what the difference is between ZX1 "Active Park Distance Control" contained within the Parking Assistance Package; and option 508 "Park Distance Control."

That’s how much a loaded F30 335i used to be several years ago.

I just checked and it’s basically the same price as a loaded F30 340i now. I remember when people thought loaded E90 335i into 50k were too much.

Just realized there is no rear sunshade option. Not the biggest deal but something I use regularly in my F30.

Perhaps the bigger question is if the front windshield sunshades slide rearward when swung to the side. Can't believe BMW hasn't implemented this functionality like- 20 years ago. It's almost as if the sun doesn't get low in Munich. 🤷🏻*♂️

Adding this inflation calculator screenshot to the thread for reference.

The $59,325 F30 I bought in March 2014, would equate to a $63,371 sticker in 2019.

And to think I got my M3 OTD for 59! Anyone that spends 50-60k on a G 330 is smoking crack.

If your going to spend that much wait for the m340 pricing to come out, a lot of features will be standard in it.

Also I'm pretty sure why BMW is charging people for car play is I'm sure it costs them money in licensing fees to Apple. The take rate isn't high, it's not that popular, and it's a novelty. Why pay Apple for something 90% of people don't even know about or care to use. They are leaving it up to you to decide.

Hyundai just bumps the MSRP price to cover the licensing. Your paying for it one way or the other.

Even though my 2014 F30 335i sticker was $59,325, I didn't pay near that. But to start bringing in individual deals against the MSRP of the G20 is not a fair comparison. Stick to MSRP. Plus- don't forget about inflation.
