Hi folks, you may have already seen this, but I hadn't... it was not available when I bought my HBA add on in March...

... But anyway there is a 'new' BMW Safety Camera Information package at £20 per year which seems fair...., I just ordered it... it is is for Fixed Cameras only, not mobile ones...

But this is really great as I don't have to rely on my dashcam (Garmin 55) and mobile phone to see where Speed Cameras are... I also hope it pops on the Head-Up Display, then it would be perfect

Will report later once I test it, car is charging now

It does pop up on HUD. Triggers at 0.25 miles and counts down in feet.

Or you can use Waze via CarPlay. Even works with the in-built satnav.

Tested it today into London, even picks up the temporary speed cameras along the M4 roadworks, and everything else, even stealth cams, very happy

I’ve always used Cyclops Speed Camera Alert app on my iPhone which is excellent and provides verbal alerts via the car’s sound system. However, £20 is very good value so I’ve added the BMW Speed Camera Information as a back up in case I forget to switch the Cyclops app on (which I sometimes do on short drives…

I have found a slight issue with the camera alerts in the HUD or in the instrument cluster. If you are on a phone call or conference call( which I am a lot ) you cannot mute or unmute the call using the right hand scroll wheel on the steering wheel when a camera alert is being displayed.

I have tried all display combinations and so far can not get it to work so just have the call on the main display and mute /unmute with the idrive controller or the touch screen. Shame as the scroll wheel was pretty convenient.

Putting aside my thoughts about conference calls whilst driving, you can cancel the speed camera notification by pressing the button on the indicator stalk so your other controls will start working again.

I keep changing the route warning settings for cameras to appear in the HUD, but to no avail. The speed camera warning continues to appear in the instrument cluster. When I subsequently turn on the car next time (still using my same driver profile), it has defaulted back to appearing again in the instrument cluster (ie in the settings). Annoying since the HUD is part of a costly upgrade package! The software currently on my car is version 03/2021.46.

I've tried rebooting, no effect.

I've highlighted the problem to the dealer but so far awaiting a response.

The same on my March 2019 330i.

Apologies for the slight hijack but wanted to ask…I've tried Waze once or twice, nice GUI but what bugs me is the speed camera alert only seems to be audible if you're over the limit. Otherwise I'm pretty sure you just get a graphic notification on the screen. I've looked in the settings and could find any way to change this. Just me, or is this the way it works?

Do you have the infotainment list in the HUD? When I was trying to get the cameras and the mute call working at the same, time I put the infotainment list in the instrument cluster and the camera alerts kept coming through the cluster also.

I just wish it made an audio noise of some sorts too rather than just on screen, or better still showed on the nav on the cockpit the location of the camera as it obviously has that info…. Sometimes it’s shown on roads I haven’t taken that have been ahead.

Brilliant! Thanks. I've changed the infotainment list to appear in the HUD. Just passed a camera tonight and the warning came up in the HUD. I am very grateful to you for the advice
