Most times when I get in the car, it gives the "key not present" message up on the screen, even though it is in my pocket, inside the car....

Car then starts fine and the message disappears and there are no issues at all with anything else.

any idea why this might be happening?

Maybe the battery in the key is getting low? I know it should tell you if it is, but maybe worth a try?

Car is only a few weeks old. I'd hope that isn't the issue.

First thing I’d test is whether it happens with both keys.

If it doesn’t it’s a key problem.

If it does it’s a car problem.

I'll give that a go. 2nd key is in the kitchen drawer. Not been used yet at all.
