M340i Servicing

Hi all, I’m thinking about going for a G21 M340i, but can’t find any info online about service intervals etc.

Can anyone point me in the direction of something or any owners tell me what the schedule is for servicing?

TIA

I've completed 4500 miles and according the service info, I'm due an oil service Sept 2021 or in 15000 miles i.e. at 19500 miles. This is in line with my previous 440i.

I believe it's every 10k miles or so depending on driving habits. Mine coming up to service at 9600 miles

The servicing requirements for US cars are totally different.

Yes, US market couldn't cope with the European Service Regime, (when it was tried), with something like 19,000 miles or 2-years, whichever comes first.

In the UK, I paid £499 for a 4 year service plan. I think it only needs 2 services in the first 2 years (unless you do a lot of miles)

Is there also a mileage limit on that plan? To get reasonable value I think you'll need to get at least two services out of it but if there's a relatively low mileage limit (say 36k) that might not be likely unless you do lots of short runs that reduce the service intervals. For example, my F1 335d has typically gone 19k miles between services so on a 36k mileage limit you'd only get one service (and on that basis £499 looks expensive).

In days gone by the service plan mileage limit was 60k which was then reduced to 50k; however, I understand BMW have reduced it even further to a point where the plans are no longer value for money for many drivers....

The limit is 60K miles. It also includes MOT protection for the 1st MOT.

The BMW’s I’ve owned all had a mileage or time limit on servicing.

My 330i is 15,000 miles or 2 years whatever comes first.

Just looked at the BMW pay monthly service plan and they want £25 per month for 3 years for a four year/2 service plan (includes some other stuff)

Myself & the other half looked at that plan & iirc it included a £500 deposit. Given in the past they had a five year, then reduced to three year one off payment plans in the past these imo represented much better value than the PCM they have now.
