Nope. If you look at the F80 with camo on the previous page, you will notice similar bulge around the grille and headlights separated from the grille. They do that to throw you off.

This time I took more time drawing. Here with full grille, half grille and frame only. What are your thoughts now?

Nice skills! Though your drawings has grills with white backgrounds and that’s just not how grills look IRL, instead they look very dark between the rasters, almost black. I also think every M car made also has black grill inserts/slats and either black or chrome frame so the whole area inside the frame looks very dark, near black.

Here are the latest M cars in the G family.

As for the vertical center line, my guess is that it will be close to the 7 series (shudder...it’s an eye sore of a car) kidney divider but with a deeper painted “nose”.

I think that with a darker black grille it will look good too. I think that the grille is going to look very similar to how it looks in my middle drawing and will have a diamond grille/mesh like the new M340i has. Through my drawings, I wanted to show that having larger grilles actually doesn’t look that bad. Either way, I’m pretty sure that at the end it will look fantastic. I can’t wait.

I’m excited about it too since large grills can indeed look good. The new X5 being a prime example, that car looks very cool IRL, especially in black though which tone it down a lot. I’m just highly skeptical about it if there is no vertical midline dividing the grills into kidneys. It doesn’t need to be big, a thin strip will do as we see in most new BMW grills but the i4 style with no vertical divider is a scary thought once you fill the i4’s grill frame with grill inserts...

To my eyes, that shape looks like camouflage cladding. I would suspect that the headlights will still meet the now enormous grille, and it does not look like the hood can open with this piece installed.

There is a shape in the hood that pronounces the upper portion of the grille to look more aggressive than the renderings done to date. It seems to protrude forward in appearance.

The shape continues in the front hood line as it joins the front bumper. Those lines seem to follow back up the hood as it returns toward the windshield.

This could look very aggressive, IMO.

I hope so, because I did the math and my wallet cannot take on a Porsche that is better in performance. Nearly 299000 plus tax for a fully loaded gt3 rs w W pack and magnesium wheels.

Yeah, Porsche is in another bracket as a new car value proposition. P-cars are IMO the by far best value in their class ( performance, reliability, looks, history etc. ) while M3 is the same in it’s class. Most who shops in the M3 class will not swap to the P-car independent on how awful the grills are since the cost of ownership difference is too big. Likewise If I were willing to spend the coin for a 992 Carrera S instead of a G82 I would even if the G80 grill turns out absolutely spectacular (and I think the 992 is a disgrace in how lazy of an exterior design change it is to the 991 ).

Any estimates on M3 availability, fall 2019 or spring 2020?

The 7er has had the largest kidneys for quite sometime.

Let's not all act like Pikachu and pretend this is new.

EDIT: It might be larger, but I think it's going to live up to the hyperbole.

Oil temp is the bottom right gauge.

Here is the first spied look at the G80 M3 interior. It features the new digital gauge display revealed and demoed last week in the upcoming M8.

I hope it doesn't have M8's adjustable brakes.

wow looks like i underestimated this interior. so far its coming together nicely and the blending of the dash and idrive is nicely done. cant believe the M8 virtual screen is making it to this car that is awesome! im still so on the fence about how the exterior will come to together so continuing to wait and see ... also that shifter definitely screams DCT, sweeeet

If you raise the brightness in one of the latest pics, you can clearly see a vertical divider in the center of the grill.
