Gxx BMWs and iDrive 7 - Known issues with BMW ConnectedDrive app

I have both a G05 and a G20, they've both been working with the ConnectedDrive app just fine.

However, BMW were having issues with their whole ConnectedDrive system, nothing was working at all. This was only fixed a couple of days ago, so everything should be working again now. I was even able to do a remote 3D view.

I leave the connected app in standard battery usage (under settings on the app, iphone). Does this have an adverse effect on data plan consumption?

Exact same thing for me. However, I can start the car from the app on my phone. The things you can do from app are:
Lock/Unlock
Turn lights on
Honk horn
Locate vehicle
Start Engine
Schedule Remote Engine Start
Remote 3D view

Lucky for you. My connected app is working perfectly but bmw is not allowed to start the car remotely in UK
