Automatic front passenger seat heating?

I managed to set the driver's seat to heat automatically if the temperature is below 6c, is there a way to set the same for the passenger seat?

Also will the (brilliant) pre-heating turn on the heated seats if it is below the set temperature?

Unfortunately you can’t do the same for the passengers seat.

As for pre heating .... sorry can’t answer that.

The incomprehensible seat preheating routine during remote start evidently has no connection to the "automatic activation under XX degrees" rule in iDrive, AND it currently only preheats the passenger seat during remote start, it does nothing for the driver seat. In other words, even if you completely disable the automatic activation rule in iDrive, your passenger seat (and passenger seat only) will still preheat at the lowest level during remote start, then immediately turn off when you open the door to get in. And conversely, if you have the automatic activation rule enabled, that rule won't kick in until you get in and press the Start button to exit remote start mode, and it only affects the driver seat, not the passenger seat.

TLDR; the passenger seat pre-heats no matter what, only during remote start...and the driver seat auto-heats if under XX degrees (if set to do so in iDrive), only after exiting remote start.

Makes perfect sense, no?

It took BMW's years and years to get with the program and offer remote start. Now it sounds like they botched tying in the seat heat? Geez.

Maybe check with the coding experts if there's a way to rectify it?

Haha, yikes. I'm in Florida. My seat is pre-heated 10/12 months of the year thank you very much. So glad I checked that option...
