Difference between D/S/M when In Sports + Mode?

I know M is manual with the paddle
Shifters but what’s the difference between D and S? D seemed more aggressive , especially between shifts?

S shifts more aggressively and holds the gears longer from what I’ve experienced

xhp explained this pretty well somewhere on their website:

S controls the shift points: It will hold gears longer (up-shift at a higher rpm) and will downshift sooner (down-shift sooner as you decelerate, depending on your speed and what gear you are in). While in eco/comfort/sport/sport+, the above statement applies, just progressively more aggressive, respectively.

The drive modes: eco/comfort/sport/sport+, affect the shift speed (how quickly/aggressively each shift actually happens). Shift speed is also dependent on throttle application during the shift in each drive mode.
