I've had this issue since car pickup (2021 M440i) in Dec of 2020. Dealerships here in Korea have not been helpful at all, and say there's nothing they can do. It seems to happen more in the summer than winters. Is the RAM the problem for sure? or the amp? or the booster? Thanks, trying to solve this on my own if need be.

Audio issue or bass issue (HiFi) = RAM
Bass issue (HK) = Booster

Ordered new amp with correct index and still not working?? Do I need to reprogram? Thinking about just bringing it into service but it’s out of warranty and not trying to pay ridiculous amounts of money for something I might be able to fix. Car had HK system

In the Technic harness "add a sub" for the HK system, does anyone know what music frequencies are coming through to the two-channel Wavtech LOC?

Are they low frequencies only?

The HK system RAM powers the mid/tweeters, the Booster powers the woofers - Booster output low frequencies only (woofers).

Just sharing my experience. I had the same issue with my '20 G22. Idrive 7 pro with HK. Went to the dealership and they performed a firmware upgrade. (which took more them two hours, but ok...)

I don't drive the car on a daily basis, but the problem hasn't returned yet. Fingers crossed.

I had the same problem. Total loss of bass. I changed the booster but it didn't help. After some diagnosing i found out that the dying booster also killed both of the subwoofers!

So i now have new booster amp and new aftermarket subwoofers and everything works again and the sound is better than before..

Did you ever get this resolved? I have an aftermarket amp and subwoofer installed and don't feel like taking everything out and going to the dealer so I may just buy a used amp and install myself. Did you have to get it reprogramed?

Didnt take one got it back all closed up from dealer

I think they reprogrammed

Sound is way better

I have had the exact issue on my 21MY M340. My car's software is also stuck on the 2021 version for some reason. My car is currently at the dealer and they verified both of my concerns citing 'faults left in the system' and are replacing the Amp and performing a software update, 0 out of pocket. Will see if my issue is truly corrected after picking the car up.

Also, this might be frivolous but does anyone else notice the Harmon/Kardon label not showing up on the volume adjustment? The 2024 M340i loaner provided to me does have that label.

I had the same issue
Went to the dealer, they did Booster flash in Ista.
Its fixed!

So no booster replaced. Running for a month without issues now.

Anyone else have the amp replaced, yet continue to run into issues with audio popping and bass dropping?
Had the worst case i've heard yet. Bass cut out for nearly 5-7 minutes. Recorded it on my phone but not super easy to tell that the bass is cut. I picked up the car only a week ago from the amp replacement at the dealer.

Update: My bass has completely gone out. I have scheduled another service appt.

2nd update: Dropped the car back off at the dealer a second time, after another week of waiting, I have gotten the car back, and no longer have issues! Very happy that it has been resolved, and that the stealership didnt give me the runaround.

The Firmware is updated (think from the booster) on my vehicle and the problem hasn’t occurred since. Let them try that. Keep us posted.
