No nothing needs to be physically changed that said to what degree your car will benefit from E30 without a piggyback box or a flash tune...I don't know.

As an example I am running a stage 2 Mission Performance Flash and while the car does just fine on our California 91 crap gas - it really comes to life with E30

I was thinking of doing the Mission stage 1 and will see what gas we have at Ft Lewis, WA when I move there in a few months. Hope they have E30 so I can get that tune. For now the JB+ is going to have to do lol.

Thats cool, but Im assuming the JB+ (which I have too) doesnt do anything for the E30 fuel? What do you think the E30 gains are, not adding in the JB+?

I think you get 92 in WA - the MP tune is not dependent on octane it just produces more power as the octane increases (this is true with any piggyback or Flash). While I like to run e30 in my car - on occasion I run 91 and while it is still great it certainly produces less power

For a moderate tune guy like me, jb+ with e30 has been a great discovery. I feel it the most on higher speed pulls on the fwy, say, 60 to whatever. Its a significant difference from stock power. Im guesstimating around 10 percent more power ish.

E30 is 93 octane, so the engine should be able to handle more fuel than the 91 and therefore should have a moderate additional power. Just e30 should add 5-10 horses in my newb opinion.

Oh OK didnt realize E30 was same as 93 octane, thanks. Just trying to find some easy not expensive way of getting about 430-450 to the wheels. Will do the DME upgrade once I move and then see how that feels. Then if I need more, lol, I'll look into a DP and Pure turbo stage 1 upgrade maybe.

You will get noticeably more punch with E30 vs just 93 if you have the proper tune. I am not an expert in this area - but a little google research will likely yield some good insight

Ps- not sending you off to google to be a jerk - just saying there are many more qualified opinions out there vs mine

Alex at MP tries to explain these things to me when I see him - and I do my best to hang in there….but I am a simple man

Just like that my car always delivers when called upon (track, trip, commute, whatever) - that's all I really care about

Im not an expert on this but wouldn't jb4 and a dp get you somewhere close to that? Add e30 and i think you could get 80-120 additional hp from stock. That would put the hp close to or slightly over 500 crank. Someone who knows better could chime in on this.

So e30 is ultimately more potent than the 93? From reading your posts i think you ARE an expert. . And you do have a beast of a car too.

Yes, with a JB4 with E30, it’s certainly more potent. I’ve run both so I do have the experience. With my current setup (Map 6, E30, MST intake and AA DP), I’d give a stock G80 a run for its money.

That's a significant jump. What if putting jb4 only with e30 without dp? Would that be worth the money compared to jb+? How much of a performance gain do you think m340i would get with just that?

Yes, moving from a JB+ to a JB4 is worth the performance gain. Not only that, but you’ll have the ability to log and run a customized map. And the Downpipe is the best supplemental mod you can go with. If you want the best bang for your buck, go with a JB4 + Catless Downpipe + E30. The other supporting mods like Intake is more for sound - and the stock chargepipe is efficient enough.
