iDrive displaying wrong/random ablum art from CarPlay

Hi all,

When playing music from the Music app, the music widget in iDrive home page displays a random album art for each song. (If I skip the current song, then go back, the album art will change)
It will randomly pick an album art that I have on my phone.

But when I tap the music widget to go to CarPlay, it's displaying the correct album art.
Also, my instrument cluster is displaying the correct album art.

I asked my dealer and they said it's a CarPlay issue, but I'm on the latest iOS15.
Also did re-connect CarPlay and it doesn't help.

Anyone seen this issue? Anything else to try?

Cheers

Updated to 07/2021.50, the problem still presists. Tried replicating the issue with my friend's X5, same OS, no issue at all!

If I hold the power/mute button for 30s, then start the iDrive again, the album arts are showing correctly. But after turning off the car and starting it back on, the album arts are random again.

Does anyone know how to report bugs to BMW?

Have you tried to reboot the iPhone?

I tried rebooting the phone, reconnecting, still got random ablum arts.
I even went to the dealership and they said they "scanned" the system and everything is fine, unless I want to do a full system re-install which might take a day.

One way to make it display the correct ablum art is to not use CarPlay, select iDrive instead of CarPlay when connecting.
It also connects faster, almost immediately as soon as the car starts.

Try deleting the car from the phone, both in Bluetooth and in CarPlay, then re-pair and reconnect.
