It's all playing out like how MP said it would. As soon as someone releases the product, all the other companies will soon follow. This is why Alex does what he does.

I personally think that if Mission released their tune when they first cracked the DME in May/June, they would have profited more by being the first one on the block and the only tuner available for the period of time from May/June until now. That's their prerogative, how they chose to do business and protect their hard work and release the tunes for whatever reason they wanted to wait. I was just giving my unsolicited opinion.

It didnt take too long for the other tuners to find a way to get into the DME and start offering tunes. It was a lot quicker then I thought possible.

I'm still waiting for Mission to do my tune, they seem to be the leader in my opinion.

Well DME tuning in New Jersey just posted that they are releasing it too. So battle of the 3 right now.

I wonder what power everyone will be making from the stage 1 remaps on normal fuel. Maybe that will be another differentiator

Never heard of RK tunes, but, the Bay Area guys I talk to who do know of RK dont have many good things to say about them...

Alex (MP) I would suggest to offer mail-in service. Those who cannot wait (while you are working on to protect your knowledge and skills, and get everything ready to offer a typical remote flash), have them remove ECU and mail it over to you, flash in house and send them back.

All I see the real deal with MP - see first page video with a real proof, while others just talking out of you know what

and nothing is released and no video proof by others of possible flash.

When my lease is up on B58 in April, I'll reach out for my next M car flash(M3 or X3M or M550i)

The point of not offering it anywhere as a public beta I thought was to protect it, regardless of how the tune was applied. So that people wouldn't try to reverse engineer whatever was done.

Either way, doesn't matter (to me personally). Going to wait on wide spread offerings and get the feedback then move forward.

Even when released, going to hold off on getting a tune since it will void warranty. I wish there was a way to relock the DME and not let BMW see/read datalog and see the huge spike in data.

Same here. Always had a tune on my other BMW’s however I think I’m going to hold off on this new M340. Not worth the cost if something goes wrong.

While I appreciate your response I am hardly "butthurt" over what mission performance does or does not do. I have already ordered a 2022 M4C xDrive and if time ever comes to tune it, I will see what is out there. Based on preliminary performance data something tells me it will be fast enough to the point where I dont need to fuck with it. People seem to be upset, and rightly so, that a company has something they want and that company will not yet sell it. No one likes to be teased especially BMW owners who are pretty passionate about their cars.

Bragging rights, the guy who keeps being the first to market generally comes across as the most skillful and reliable. If something goes wrong or it gets relocked with a new update, I would feel more comfortable it would be resolved quicker by the guy who figured things out a year before the competition, or even have less confidence in the companies that stole Alex's work to begin with.

Not saying other companies aren't as good or possibly better, but it's quite impressive that the same guy is the first to figure it out each time, especially when u consider he's going against massive companies like Dinan.
