This seems to be available only in NA as it is blocked by regulations in Europe. Hope there is a work around...

For those that already had remote start, does it need to be purchased? Did a software update and now the remote start does not work nor is there an option anywhere in the settings. Thanks!

I finally was able to order it. I updated in the car and it says it was successfully installed. However I can not get the car to remote start using key fob -clicking three times. I have been trying for a few days and still can not get the car to remotely start. I tried re-booting the iDrive also didn't work. I am probably doing something wrong but dont know what.

FYI -- if you coded any features in your car, this will clear those codes since a remote software update is required to activate the feature.

Yes. Had to reprogram stuff. Even after using a backup on bimmercode app. Wish bimmercode app was more user friendly.

Anyone found a way to increase the period of time the cur is warming up?

I believe it is running for 15min by default which is not enough in a decent cold weather.

Pretty sure idling your car that long is not good long-term anyway.

Picked up my 340 on Saturday. Saturday night bought remote start from the store. Shows under my active subscriptions in iDrive. However, I can't get the thing to work or even show up in the climate control settings menu. Have tried reloading apps and even did an idrive reboot.

Any recommendations?

Sounds similar to the issue I had. Had to take it in to dealer. Took them nearly 2 months to figure out what the issue was. Eventually, it had to be programmed remotely from Germany. Good luck.

Thanks, did you try customer support before dealer?

Not sure what support line you're referring to. Do you mean Genius? Anyhow what software version is your car currently running?

Pretty sure driving off while the engine is still cold is not good long term.
