Update on my M440i (original build week36)

Good news:
It was at the Bremerhaven port since mid last week.
SA told me it just got shipped. ETA to arrive in southern-CA port is 10/28

Bad News:
There is a delivery stop at arrival port due to Receiver Audio Module missing.
I guess BMW is using the shipping weeks to secure the parts & install at destination. But this has no estimated time.

If any of you are in the same boat (pun intended) post it here.

I know there is a lot of criticism about the enlarged kidney but I for one love it. I felt the past several years the grill had been feminized, shrunk down, not nearly as aggressive. It’s great to see the 180 with this front end.

I was a previous Saab 9000 owner and loved the hatchback design. This 2nd gen IMO puts the sexy back in the Gran Coupe.

I can not wait to see y’all’s deliveries to get me even more jazzed.

Because the MSport indicates it came with shadowline trim. When I added the shadowline trim nothing appeared to change to the visual build so I considered it duplicate to what was included as part of the MSport. When I attempted to remove it the MSport package was removed further my assumption it was duplicated.

Of course after doing more research I find that it in fact not duplicate but the only thing I see changed is the molding around the grill from chrome to polished black.

I’m glad your brought this up… to further solidify being a nob I'm going to ask what else comes with this package and am I able to add afterwards/ dealer add or myself (I believe I read I could)

I will add this, if it’s nothing more than a blacked out grill surround I’m good without. The enlarged kidney grill is a head turner IMO, having the chrome surround I think pronounces it that much more vs if it was blacked out it would just fade into the rest of the car. While I like the blacked out look (my truck was such) the slight use of the chrome in front adds a touch of class.

I think this comes down to a preference and really can’t go wrong either way. If I were to get a color other than black I may think differently. I like to keep the color combos as minimal as possible otherwise it can look too busy and start taking away from the cars beautiful lines.

Disregarding the grill itself, my personal sense is that black highlights go with darker colors & the cerium gray goes with the lighter color choices. Recommend to call dealers and go see a 4 series in person with these combinations if you can. I think aftermarket is a messy way to go right now and this is not a dealer swap item.

Just got updated that "Quattro" is in transit!!! Anyone know how I would find out what boat its on so I can track??? I want to make sure I'm back in town when it arrives in Southern Cal. Thanks 4 the help!

Thanks for the info and the links. Just got off the phone with my dealer, interesting turn of events…

BMW is no accepting orders with laser lights so those had to be taken off, and since I had them on the phone I added the Shadow Line Package

Still pissed about the lights :-(

That sucks. My M440i will have an indefinite hold for Audio module install once it arrive at port. Supply chain affecting all cars now.
I heard that the LED lights are pretty good by themselves if it's any comfort. You also have time to change your order until your car go into production. Make sure you get the order # from dealer and setup tracking with mygarage from BMW site.

Premium Package now discounted from $2000 to $750, was just informed they are not able to offer the heads up display. Since they submitted the order and it was accepted there is reason to believe I will get it, but this could change. If they can’t give me heads up display the will discount my premium package.

First the headlights and now possibly this…

That would be a deal breaker for me as well... I just left the dealership and they told me everything was still available. They are going to confirm my order on Friday as they are getting their allocations tomorrow.
Also price was firm on MSRP on the M440i GC. anyone get any discounts on it?

Not as of yet. Nothing for October at least besides the 0.9% APR. We're not expecting to see rebates for the G26 until maybe even January because it's such a new model
