G26 430/440 Gran Coupe Power seat deletion (ZDC)
Just found out from my dealer that BMW has deleted power seats from the first batch of all 4-series Gran Coupe models coming to USA.
This was a surprise find for the dealership and they are just informing bunch of their customers waiting for 430/440 Gran Coupes. ZDC Deletion of Power seats -995.00 My vehicle is almost at the destination port. BMW seems to have sneaked this in. I still can't see this deletion noted in the "Track My BMW". But the dealer can now see it in the invoice. If you have a 430/440 GC order please check with your dealership. |

I just looked up a few G26 VINs and don't see any mention of power seats on any of the build sheets.

I believe the base seats on the 3 series in Europe are manual? I could be wrong but yeah.

This is shocking to hear, but may not be a deal breaker for me.
Here are some thoughts about this in another posting. https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...Vs-Power-seats |

I would not accept a vehicle of this price without power seats (especially if you are financing and have to resell down the road). I suspect there will be a few cancelled orders if this is true.

You are absolutely correct. I predict BMWNA is going to have a bunch of Gran Coupes sitting on dealer lots gathering dust. Virtually no BMW customer in the U.S. market will accept manual seats on a car at this price point. Big mistake for BMW.

Unless the dealer “forgets” to mention these cars are missing power seats and the customer doesn’t find out until they bring their shiny new car home.

If someone doesn't notice they don't have power seats until they get home, they deserve the botched car. Lol

That would be completely unacceptable to me, especially for a car at launch.
Fwiw, I just ordered a new P-car, and while all options are available, it's going to take at least 10 months from last Friday! I'd rather wait to get the car I want, BMW should have delayed the launch.

Hi sfbimmer,
I can also confirm that my m440i GC build week 37 (currently in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean) also has power seat deleted from the build. |

Just confirmed my M440i GC build has had the power seats deleted…Super pissed, and really contemplating not taking delivery. Being credited $995, but still…I agree BMW should have waited and delivered vehicles exact how they were ordered. Should have at least reached out to the customer to give them a choice to wait (for chip that controls the power seat), or to take delivery on schedule with manual seats. If I had the option I would have chose to wait.

According to my dealership, power seats seem to be available for new GC orders. At least for now.
Even BMW Geniuses did not know anything about it as of yesterday. My SF bay area dealer who seems to have pre-sold all 430/440 GC allocations are notifying customers now. BMW really sneaked this in unlike other deletions, probably to not miss the launch date. Fans are the ones who jumped into the first batch of orders after waiting for months until they can order. BMW should have notified this asap to dealers, instead of waiting to find out when the ships reach destination ports. I double checked all options with dealer and through the Genius line just before production started. Pretty mad about this as no way I can convince my wife to accept this as we swap vehicles fairly often and gotten used to easy seat adjustments into preferred settings. Dealer said they asked BMW for a post delivery swap/fix but got a no. They are advising me (customers) to reach out to BMW. If you are affected please complain and see whether BMW can commit to a post delivery swap. |
