Because Canada is only getting these "individual editions", I don't think they are missing any equipment.

Make sure you test manual seats before you accept them. I went from electric to manual and thought not a problem as wife doesn’t drive car that often that resetting seats would not be a problem.
Big problem, seats seem much harder to get in the correct position. Instead to smooth electric slide you have a ratchet system that always seems just too high or low/ forward or back. With no memory and above ratchet system much harder to get back once moved. |

I plan to leave my seats in sporty driving 90% of the time so my G26 with manual seats may not be a problem. I just gotta spend more time adjusting it I suppose. |

I just got a 2022 M440i gran coupe and it came with manual seats. Dealer used the "chip shortage" excuse. Not happy with that missing feature, but not a deal breaker.

Definitely a deal breaker for me. This day and age I would not buy any car with manual seats let alone a BMW…But that's just me.

My M440i Gran Coupe came without power seats, and after worrying and thinking hard about it a couple of days, I decided to accept it (with the $995 price reduction). It looks and sounds a lot more terrible than it really is.
If you're the only driver, it's not so bad living with manual seats again. Of course, if you change drivers frequently it is a nuisance to readjust everything manually, so I would advise you to wait to re-order your car. The dealer pointed out to me that it could be a very long time before the car would be available without something else deleted, as the chip shortages have also been affecting the availability of head-up display, automatic laser lights, touchscreen, and parking system. In retrospect, I could have waited but didn't feel it was worth it. By the way, although the seat position is manually adjustable, the lumbar support and side bolsters are still adjustable with the normal motorized controls. The side mirror positions settings are no longer memorized along with the power seat setting switches (which is altogether absent, and probably was the location of the missing chips), but the mirror settings can still be set via the same motorized control as normal. Of course the seat thigh support is still adjustable, manually, as it is even with the power seats. One can adjust the seat height and angle manually even while driving without any real difficulty or major safety issue except having only one hand to grip the wheel (same as with a power seat adjustment). The front/back position adjustment is a little risky to do while driving, but the same could be said of many other settings. So just do it before you set out, or stop the car and adjust. The settings are indeed ratcheted, so you lose the "infinite variation" capability but the detents are fairly close so I haven't found that to be a problem. |

Manual seats here on the G26.
3 month ownership update -- out of 3.5K miles driven, my fiancé has driven probably 10% of it. She's a bit shorter than I am so all she needs to do is move the seats forward by 2 notches. When I drive, I'll move it back 2 notches and all other settings remain the same. Honestly the only pain with manual seats is when I had to valet the car in Vegas, but I've owned more cars w/ manual seats than with powered seats so I can't complain much. |

Hey guys, my first post here...
Going back and forth between a 340i and the 440i for a while now, I recently bought an M440i GC with the power seat deletion. At first I was off-put, but after coming across virtually zero inventory and trying not to wait months for an order that may or may not be missing features, my dealer called me about a special ordered car that came in and the customer backed out. It was EXACTLY what I would have ordered (if I could have ever decided between the two models). M440i Color, interior, wheels and every option package. I was on the fence. A car with a sticker of $68k should definitely have everything it's supposed to, but things have gone to heck in the past year. These are just the times in which we live and there is really no sign that anything will change very soon. The THREE M340i's I found all had touch screen deletes, something I could not deal with. I'm the only driver so the lack of power seats, while a nuisance is not a big deal to me. I set it and forget with only an occasional minor adjustment. They actually adjust just fine and lumbar support is still electric. I did consider retail and trade values down the road but I plan to keep this car a very long time. If I do unload it, it is what it is. It's an absolute blast to drive, my first BMW car (longtime BMW motorcycle owner) and my 60th bday present to myself. Love the car! |

Just took delivery of my m440i GC and love the car but was surprised to find no drivers side width adjustment. On order I knew there would be a delete for passenger lumbar which indeed was the case. I have power seats with driver lumbar but expected I would also have the side bolster adjustment. Was I wrong about this the whole time or perhaps a more subtle delete by BMW they didn’t feel material enough to notify and reimburse anyone for? Curious if anyone has a build where this was included?

Side width adjustment was never advertised or offered for the G26 (at least not for the US spec). I’m not sure where you got the impression that the driver’s seat included side bolster adjustments.

Both are power. No memory settings or lumbar adjustment for the passenger seat.
