Highest HP / Quickest M340i??
I am considering moving on from my B9 S4 and getting into a 2020+ M340i X Drive. Before doing so I'm curious how far people have taken these cars so far.
My S4 is FBO and TTE710 hybrid turbo, makes 523whp/545tq and runs 10.67 @ 128mph on 93/E20 so I want something that can do more without a ton of work. From my understanding only 2020s are tunable at the moment so that's what I've been looking at. I've seen Turbosystems, TTE and Pure making hybrid turbos. Is one preferred over the other? The TTE seems the least popular since it's rated for roughly 550hp. Are there any hybrid turbos or full frame turbo kits breaking mid 10s without meth? What's required? I have access to ethanol so E50-E85 isn't an issue. I appreciate any and all help. Pic of my S4 for attention |

10.67 at 128? Seems like a slow trap speed for that time, weird.
I'm pretty sure there's a few ppl doing 10s with stock turbo, especially if u have access to e85. Dinan, who's known for being a bit conservative, has an e85 tune that puts down 502hp and 540tq at the wheels on a stock car. |

He can get a $1200-$1500 tune and still be $20K less than an M3/4 in terms of price. Unless he plans on Building a track car then in that case yeah go M3/4. I'd personally rather daily a tuned M340 than an M3/4.

What you see that is being done on the Supra can mostly be replicated with the M340i.
Can give you some ideas.

M3 now comes with xdrive, so any way u look at it, if u have the money that's just the better way to go. If u look at how the redbull drift Brothers achieved crazy power with just a few mods, u can see the insane tuning potential the s58 has.

I've seen a few guys tuned by Visconti with E50 that seem to make good numbers. Not sure if they are popular on here or not |

While I love my S4 I'm starting to hit the end of the road. I've done nearly everything to it and more power is at a standstill. Our fuel system is very limited and no viable HPFP upgrades are on the market so I'm stuck with the power I have unless I run race gas all the time. It's my daily driver so I don't want to do that.

I actually have an X3M Comp in the garage too so I'm well aware of the tuning potential. It's currently flashed with Stage 1 E30 |

If you can wait a year or two and snatch an AWD M3, these will run low 10's on tune only.

I'm glad you brought this up and excuse my ignorance. I know the two have the same motor and such but are there any difference's in the bay that would allow the supra to run say a full frame turbo but not the M340? I ask because I do see a lot more turbo kits market for the A90 but none really say if they will fit the M340 too.

Tunable
Just this year alone, I went from a F90 M5, to a M4 Comp and just traded for an M340i for the reasons stated by the OP. I had a tune, DP's and other common mods done by most enthusiasts on the forum. Youtube has plenty of Euro M340i fans that have moderately modded that are extremely quick. The main reason that I made the switch is weight. The videos that I focus on show the little M doing sub 3 second 0 to 60 times without a problem. I do see the little M being in the lower 10's within the year and with reliability.

1- Supra is way more popular platform for tuners because of envious reasons, "sport car" platform, price, target audience etc. 2- Most M340i are Xdrive and the number of owners ready to be guinea pigs and risk there warranty is probably non-existent. A lot are also leased. 3- It will come but later when M340i values drop like it happened with F series but I see it happening later this time because of car values (Covid) and the fact the G series M340i is much closer to an M car of the past and a better built car than before Wich should keep the values a bit higher for longer.

Not due to the lack of experience with M5's. I have owned, in the past, the E60/F10/F90 M5 and when new. All substantially modded with the F10 received a heavily modded trans, custom tunes,DP's and a lot of other gear. Great cars. But, I really believe, like others, the M340i is the new M3/M4.
