TupperBMW, I got the same one. Honestly, I wanted the quad-tip look, but I got so much more out of the AWE. I waited a long time for mine to ship...3 months is about right.

It is loud when the car initially starts during the cold start process. Within 30 seconds, it quiets down. I love it; you will not regret the purchase.

I’m running an MPE + AA catted DP and have received nothing but compliments from friends, family and random car guys.

Like many have said, can’t go wrong with either - they are all miles better than the muted, stock unit.

Cold Start

a low-end pull

That sounds perfect. That just justified my decision.

FYI - Took advantage of Black Friday deals and purchased the quad CF exhaust tips from Automodz. I'll start a thread and review once I receive/install them.

Last week I bought my 2021 BMW M340i (my first BMW!) to serve as my DD, but I want this car to sound more aggressive, but since I own the Porsche I don't NEED it to be too excessive.

So here is my question:

I want a louder and sportier exhaust, but since this is my DD and I DO have neighbors, I don't want to go too insane.

So would you guys recommend MPE, Dinan, or AWE? I've heard that the AWE is VERY loud, and that might be a problem?

But is MPE loud enough? I definitely can have a louder exhaust, I just don't want to piss off the whole neighborhood.

As an aside, I've been weighing an Akrapovic exhaust for the Porsche but because the cold start for that exhaust is SOOOOOOO SUPER LOUD I've refrained from buying it.

Thanks and l look forward to talking about cars with you all
There's is the dinan it's a well designed exhaust

In echo pro and comfort mode you're using the two inner pipes through the muffler and in sports mode your using all four

Took it to the shop today. Here is the original exhaust.

Below is the new exhaust and exhaust tips, about to be installed:

And now, the new AWE touring non-resonated exhaust:

The car looks and sounds WAY better, guys. The stock exhaust was numb for a 382 hp performance car that can do 0-60 in under 4 seconds yet can still comfortably lug your family around!

Here are the pics after installation:

And now the garage lineup (minus the minivan). The Porsche maintains its rightful top dog status, but the Bimmer is far more aggressive and not about to take shit from anyone that doubts it:

Exhaust looks great AWE puts out such a top notch product. Anyhoo - just wanted to give you a thumbs up on the minivan - while with a 21 & 18 year old my minivan days are behind me...for the younger years there is simply nothing better.

Like you I had the minivan along with my more aggressive cars...but for the younger kid years they are perfection. I know as enthusiasts we are supposed to put the minivan in the same category as the prius - but I always tell anyone with little ones - park your pride - buy the minivan...nothing better - you will thank me.

Funny story back in the day my then wife said "I will never drive a minivan" so when she totaled our customized Audi Allroad - I got her a minivan as a loaner - and when our 30 days was up with the insurance loaner and I asked her what she wanted...she said I can't believe Im saying this but that minivan was the best. New Honda Odyssey delivered the next week

^ I’ve never been lauded in these enthusiast car forums for owning a minivan, but I’ll take the compliment

Nice pics @TupperBMW

Hoping my dinan arrives on time. Keep hearing bad things about deliveries.

Two questions -

How much was install?
Do we need to ask for the tips to be pushed in? I see some peoples exhaust sticks out wayyy too much

^ My shop charged me $315 to do the install.
The tips allow you to set how much you want them to stick out. That is luckily something that you have control over, at least with this particular exhaust.

Drop the throttle and it will roar a thorough note. No sounds of congestion or tinny notes that would be heard with a traditionally packed muffler (i.e. the other brands mentioned).

If the volume is a concern -- particularly at part throttle or higher in the range -- may be a good idea to consider the resonated variant of the Touring Edition. While it was designed for cars equipped with a DP -- it adds an extra layer of sophistication when it comes to the volume without hurting the epic tone.

The Touring Edition truly is... the *chefs kiss*

Choice of quad tips or keep your OEM tips, your call.

Note: DP equipped vehicle.
I posted in the AWE exhaust suite thread too but never got a response to this - aren't these videos from 2020 model? While the exhaust does sound amazing, it's not going to sound anything like it does in the videos on a 2021. A quick call out in your post re:2020 model in videos would also be helpful.

Can you post some videos of the exhaust in action? Would love to hear what it sounds like before I pull the trigger, deciding between MPE and AWE non res touring too.

Sorry for the delayed response.

I don’t have any videos to post. AWE and other have already posted them online. Mine would be similar.

As with other aftermarket exhausts, they just do NOT do any justice to the sound in real life. If you’re ever in the Chicago area I can show you in person

Awe's videos are from 2020 model, so its not going to sound the same for any of the newer MY owners.

Appreciate your brief thoughts, if you ever make a video feel free to post it here. More data points the better
