Hi all,

Has anyone had a dealer update to the latest 11.21 version? My car was in having some warranty work done and I seem to have lost the ability to set automatic seat and steering wheel heating when the temperature goes below a certain level. Anyone else had this?

I seem to recall this happening with some previous updates. From memory you need to factory reset the idrive and start again.

As above factory reset has sorted this issue before.

Had this same issue after updating to 07/2021.50. Hold down the power button for idrive for like 45 seconds to do a hard reset and it should fix the issue.

Just spotted this thread. I have lost the app too to set auto seat and steering wheel heat over the last couple of weeks.

I have had no updates since 03/2021. Just noticed it has disappeared over the last few weeks. Unable to now set seat or steering wheel auto heat.

Will doing a hard reset of the I drive remove all my Bimmercode coding too, or will it just restore my missing app?

Weirdly I'd applied some coding since the software update and I just restored the backup and the function came back - then re-coded and it was still there. It must just have not coded properly

I'm on 07/2021.20 and I've just lost the automated habits for the seat and steering wheel heating. I've tried a iDrive hard reset and still no joy...
Absolutely crazy... the coldest its been in the UK and they remove the function

It should be there for sure - mine came back after a reset, so I'd suggest calling either Connected Drive services or failing that, the dealer to try and resolve.

A +1 from me too. I hardly opened the car from Christmas Eve until this morning. Noticed the seats/wheel didn't come on. Thought maybe a lowish battery. Drove 120 Km/70 miles no change. Menu missing. Was definitely working the last time I drove it.

Yes, I've lost functions too which suspiciously seemed to disappear at the same time as the festive app came and went. A reset hasn't brought the features back either.

Edit: Just been onto BMW - they know about the issue and will issue a fix but if you give them a call they'll put your car at the top of the list for the roll out.

I just opened the forum app to post the same thing and can see everyone else is already on it. I must have rebooted idrive 5 times on my drive to and from work today to try and sort it.

As other have said now the cold snap is here it's the worst timing!

Glad it's not just me, thanks to the others for sharing.

I don't have either option ticked but the driver's seat heat comes on at one blob when I start up.

Is anyone experiencing this issue running any additional coding?

I cleared all my coding relating to that module when experiencing the issue at first, which seemed to work, but it came back tonight when the options completely disappeared - idrive reset did nothing. I shut the car down and left for 10 mins and it's back again.

Surely this has got to be a widespread issue for ID7 as it's affecting people with different software versions?

I put up a thread a few days ago as my auto window function had disappeared. Have noticed tonight the function to bring on the seat heating automatically below 7° has gone too. I have tried several resets and app updating but nothing has helped. Really pissed off that BMW don't send any notifications on this.

Had the same problem as hadn't used the car since xmas eve. Comfort Access didn't work, so did an iDrive reset on the way to work, still no auto heated seats/wheel or Window app so did another iDrive reset when I got to work. Sat in the car for 5-10 mins on the app page and they reappeared eventually and Comfort Access working as should again.

No software update here but I've lost all internal lights including ambient and door handle and carpet lights plus seat heating, etc. Had battery on charge before Christmas but going to hook it up again this morning, hope it just needs a charge.

EDIT just been out to put it on charge, everything back to normal, very strange.

So reset my idrive at the start of the journey to work this morning and then after about 15 mins heating rules and window rules app came back, along I think with caring car app.

I reset before while stationery and then turned off quite quickly, so might need a reset then left on powered up for a while. Who knows!!

Anyway good news it's all back for me so no fault with the car as such which is the main thing.

Still shouldn't be doing that though I'd say - really weird. Mine was also fine this morning though, so god knows what's going on!

Looks like the auto window and climate control rules have just reappeared on my car. Seemed to reappear suddenly as I was driving.

Well, been to my local BMW dealer and after they had their technician look at the car they said they can do nothing atm. They will need to speak to BMW Uk and raise it as a technical ticket??!!!
They did say it might reappear, but if not I'm booked in again in 2 weeks time with a courtesy car. .
Fingers crossed it sorts itself out in the meantime

And as if by magic, on a drive tonight and after approx 15 mins driving the steering wheel and seats suddenly heat up. Checked the apps and the voila… the Caring Car, Auto windows and Climate Comfort Apps have suddenly reappeared.
Good news however very sceptical if they remain… ❄️😬🤣
