My trunk lifts automatically with the foot motion and from the fob, but any idea if there is a way to close it automatically? I can't figure it out so I am assuming not. But maybe I'm missing something?

It should close with your foot, the same motion you used to open it.
Edit: Make sure you don't have the closing turned off.

If you don't have the power tailgate option, you can only open it with your foot, you can't close it the same way.
Check the settings that TurtleBoy posted in case you do have it.

I have the power tailgate, and I can close it remotely, use foot swipe, or use a button on the underside of the lid. It was not really an expensive option ($250) but it’s fairly uncommon.

I've the power tailgate, and closing with the remote was something I had to code. All the other means of closing the trunk were there though
