help with side mirror damage

swiped my garage as i was backing in and damaged side mirror cap and the housing around the mirror. it’s still functioning, can still close and indicator lights still work. not sure whether to send it in to get fixed by my dealer or to get parts and do it myself. advice appreciated! Why not take this chance to change to the carbon fibre ones? I know I would 😂

that’s what i was thinking, but need to buy the housing around the mirror as well and was wondering if that would be hard to self install

I just saw some videos on the installation. Not super hard if you’re into DIY projects.. but it seems to me that the mirror housing is only the rear portion, your front portion which is scratched up will not be replaced in that process.

This also means that the dealer will have to replace the entire side mirror compartment which is not gonna be cheap
