Misaligned Rear Bumper or Poor Factory QC?
Hey Guys,
would like some help here.. could any of you help to verify if you have a noticeable gap at the area between the rear bumper and taillight? You would need to open up the boot. Long story short, I was rear ended at fairly low speed in a congested traffic because the guy behind wasnt paying attention that traffic has stopped completely.. the accident was definitely avoidable in my opinion. Anyway, there are dents and scratches to the bumper and diffuser and on first glance a respray and bodywork would fix it. I had a chance to inspect more on the damages after reaching home, and I noticed that my rear bumper had misaligned especially on the right rear. I would avoid a bumper replacement if possible usually but more than 10years ago I reversed my first car against a grille and after repair, the alignment never got back to the original condition and always had a 2-5mm gap along the bumper to the main body. Thats my worst fear with my current situation My car is barely 16months and lightly used also due to the pandemic. How I wish i could avoid the accident completely. Sharing some pics on the bumper gap. Is it factory quality or its caused by the accident? Thanks in advance everyone Last edited by alienz; 01-16-2022 at 06:28 AM.. |

The painted bit fo the ‘bumper’ is pretty much cosmetic and not part of the shock absorbing system. I wouldn’t be at all surprised is it has popped out of place if it has been subject to a light ‘kiss’…..only held on by plastic clips.

Hopefully it can be solved by replacing the clips. Thanks for all the replies
