Sport+ does the same on my car. So yes, can be used in normal driving. IMO, driver awareness should be heightened, when we drive with less than the full DSC suite active. A lot depends on our skill levels, to whether we are safe.

I've driven with DTC active, (or Sport+) and can detect less brake intervention as you near the limits. Chassis is more alive, feels slightly more balanced.

Be careful if you're AWD..... car can catch traction at a weird moment and tough to correct. RWD tends to be safer without traction control i feel.

I've used DTC multiple times on my M340i, especially when peeling out of a turn. It's a blast! (and very easy to control)

lol thanks guys. i thought maybe someone has tested it vs sport + which also lets the rear end out. maybe one is more, maybe they're the same.

i accidentally found out about sport + when i got it. but then again it wasn't real sport + it was sport individual with comfort suspension comfort steering and sport + engine & transmission. maybe it's a bit more again with the pure sport +.

i wish the engineers would tell you these things rather than needing to figure it out by asking the internet

anyway i can tell you that sport individual with sport + engine/trans and comfort steering / suspension = very controllable slide. you control the slide with the throttle in this mode. lol.

I can attest to this. I threw an X5 XDrive through a turn pretty quickly about a year ago in Sport+, and the XDrive over-corrected by a ridiculous amount. I've had alot of large cars over the years, and I really didn't consider it an excessive amount of acceleration for a turn of that radius. I was just like, "wtf does this thing think it's doing?" Seemed pretty dangerous to me, and luckily it was during lockdown so I had lots of space on either side of me to re-correct. I'm sure XDrive has saved alot of drivers' butts from sticky situations as well, but some of us are probably better off without it. In all fairness it's a top-heavy SUV as well, so maybe it really had no business being thrown around a curve - but I'm a BMW driver what do you expect from me!

haha i was after the x3 m40i but after testing that vs m340i there was no contest. 3 series = track car, suv = truck.

DTC ON is its own mode, like Comfort or Sport. Going into Sport+ enables DTC. This is from the F30 gen, but the behavior should be the same.

And a detailed version--also from an older car, but the behavior seems like it should be more or less the same.
