Switching tire sidewall from 40 to 45 viable on 19" M440i GC rims?

G26, tire profile is 245/40R19 on 8.5 rim width
Purpose is to cover wide fender well. Will it cause friction?

Unless you also change your rear tires it will screw up your xDrive. As in it will damage your xDrive system.

So if I do change all four, no bad consequences?

I’m not sure. I’ll let someone else chime in on that. It would increase your overall tire diameter by a full inch. Only a half inch increase in radius. I think the odds of rubbing with that small change are low, but I can’t say for certain.

It shouldn’t, given that lowering springs lower by up to 35mm (more than an inch) on xDrive.
