Like others have said cabin is definitely louder, especially at 2kish rpm. On long road trips I modulate the gas sometimes to move above or below 2k rpm. That being said, I would buy the awe ten times over. Hands down the best upgrade I've made.

Personally the fact that AWE deletes the value is a deal breaker for me. I have heard the AWE in person, it has a good tone but too loud for my liking. Tips look great though.

If that's a concern, I recommend the active autowerke exhaust, which retains the stock valve controller allowing the customer to manage the sound level.

I don't understand why anyone likes a loud cold start with any exhaust. We've all decided not to drive yellow corvettes for our own respective reasons and we have a certain unspoken code to uphold

I want a loud cold start, and I want the back of my car to face your house when I do it. You should hear the cold start on my Audi R8 with its new valveless, titanium exhaust. Especially at 3 am

So the video has the entire installation DIY as well, but I do have before and after sound clips too. Keep in mind that video of exhaust is HIGHLY subjective to put it mildly, and will be limited by conditions, camera, mic quality, background noise and more. So.. the sound clips I do have here are good, but even as I listen to them myself, they dont fully represent the complete sound due to the mic itself. I will say while I ran the before and after, everyone else in the shop stopped and listened, and was VERY impressed by the after. It make a massive difference.

Hey guys, I'm looking to get AWE installed but what did you guys do with the OEM exhaust just in case I want to return it back to OEM and sell the car?
Since it looks like it's welded do I ask the shop to cut it up for me? I live in a condo so storage is an issue for me, maybe dinan is the way to go since it's an axel-back?? Suggestions would be appreciated. |
