The oem exhaust is nearly as long as the car. I was going to keep mine but soon gave up on that idea and chopped it up and put in boxes for trash. I see people giving them away on here frequently just for that reason.

Agreed. It’s too hard to store, I said “screw it” and scrapped mine.

I honestly don’t think anyone will want the OEM exhaust if they buy this car. AWE sounds perfect for this set up. I’m sure Dinan is great too.

Hi Tupper, I am curious if you still have this car and what your opinion on the AWE after owning it for more than a year.

I am also considering exhaust options and am split between the MPE vs. other more aggressive sounding exhausts.

My gf has had the AWE Resonated Touring on the 2020 m340i and also the 2023 m340i. Obviously the 2020 is much better in terms of sound characteristics, but both are worlds better compared to the oem exhaust. The MPE is honestly a waste of money; the "gain" is not significant enough to justify the cost. AWE is cheaper and much better in nearly all aspects.

The only downside to AWE is that it does not retain the factory valve control. Other than that, my gf and I both wish it was louder so we may either get a dp or chop the resonator haha.
